One reason might be that cesarean operations create fear in Hindu women about childbirth, leading them to have fewer children, which in turn reduces the population. Another factor is the high cost of medical care throughout pregnancy and delivery for Hindu women, which can be very expensive, sometimes ranging from tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of rupees. On the other hand, Muslim women generally reach the hospital at the last moment, have normal deliveries, and remain healthy and strong, continuing to have children each year. This raises questions about why Hindu women are more likely to undergo cesarean sections, and why certain complications, like babies passing stool in the womb or having respiratory issues, are more commonly associated with them. It would be important for the government to release data on the percentage of cesarean deliveries among different religious communities and to clarify how many of those cesareans were actually medically necessary. Food for thought—can anyone shed more light on this?
