In September of 2011, Eric and Wynton Marsalis released their collaboration album, 'Wynton Marsalis & Eric Clapton – Play The Blues - Live From Jazz At Lincoln Center,' which was recorded in April of that year at New York City's Jazz at Lincoln Center (Jazz at Lincoln Center). Taj Mahal was featured for two of the songs on the record, including this performance of “Just A Closer Walk With Thee.”

Paul Newman, Sidney Poitier and Louis Armstrong in a fantastic scene from “Paris Blues” (1961). “Paris Blues” was directed by Martin Ritt who was described by American writer, editor, and critic of film and theatre Stanley Kauffmann as “one of the most underrated American directors, who was superbly competent and quietly imaginative.” It was during the filming of this movie that Joanne Woodward became pregnant with Melissa Newman, who was born on the day “Paris Blues” opened in the U.S. which was September 27, 1961. Paul Newman was coached in playing the trombone by Billy Byers, while the playing for Newman on the soundtrack was done by Murray McEachern. Sidney Poitier's tenor sax playing was done by Paul Gonsalves. The soundtrack was recorded May 1-3, 1961 at Reeves Sound Studios in New York City.
