So you go down to 70 games… and then players will play 50 or 55 instead of 65-70. Does that improve the product? Are the TV providers going to be ok with each team playing 2 or 3 games a week instead of 4? Doubt it… There’s just too much guaranteed money these days. Impossible to get the players to care and thus they don’t train as hard any more and don’t care about playing as much as possible. 98% of them are there for a cheque. That’s it.

@TheNBABase Playing 82 games never used to be a problem until this generation of players showed up with their "load management." Plus the product is boring with no defense being played. It's just a constant lobbing up of 3's until the final buzzer or what Kobe called accidental basketball.

@TheNBABase Problem is the league has rewarded teams for decades for “tanking.” When the Utah Jazz do the exact same thing other teams have done, the NBA decides to enforce “rules” and penalize the Jazz. It seems like the league hates the Jazz and rewards teams they like.

What’s with this “season is too long” bulls**t. Pisses me off. The season is 82 games. Deal with it. You don’t have “plumbers and fireman” playing. These are pros with 10 coaches and 10 medical staff members and millions of dollars at their disposal. GTFO of here the season is too long! Silver being too player friendly - yeah, that’s fair. And yeah, maybe you do need a change in commish. Let’s see. The game has a lot of issues, but season length is not one of em!
