SAS has a separate show because he's black, he's not allowed to smoke weed on national television without being fired. So he has a separate show out of courtesy.

Stephen A cover nba. The only reason it seem like he on all day is cause he did first take, nba count down, maybe pre game and or post game and maybe sports center with Scott van. It's not the nba season yet. And he never did nfl live or college
Tbf Stephen A will still do all the NBA stuff. Im not defending him but its not like he fell off from other Espn shows. Pats a better fit for football if the decision had to pick. Especially since Pat isn’t doing WWE commentary any more
Before Pat.. It was the SAS network.. On every shell almost 24/7 now that they got a second person to handle more of the football duties they're acting like it's some giant Revelation or something when the NBA starts and he'll be all over it again

Stephen A literally nods off during some segments of First Take because he’s tired. He once mixed up Brad Daugherty with Matt Doherty on air because he’s tired.

No that’s in sas deal that he was only going to do first take and sometimes on nfl countdown literally said it he was doing every show before his contract and once he got it he told them he was only doing first take
The difference is Stephen A acts and talks like he KNOWS what he’s talking about and that he’s RIGHT and everyone else is WRONG. Pat is not like that at all. And he CAN actually be funny sometimes lol

Can we talk about the commentators at espn doing 3 shows a day?? Everytime I tune into sports talk show the same recycled people. Jeff Saturday who is unwatchable. Jason McCorty, Kyle Brandt, etc. We dont need to here their options 3 times a day! Find new talent!

Pat ain’t for my demographic and they probably over promote him but imo he’s less annoying than SAS SAS has a massive ego and quite frankly his best days were in the 2010s. No idea why ESPN paid him $20M+ AAV lol
