The AI race is just getting started, and those investing in the infrastructure clearly believe the future is worth the risk. Time will tell who gets it right.

Clayco (Forbes): data-center build ~75% of nearly $12B 2026 revenue (+43% YoY). Completed 16 DCs last year; 77 underway across 13 states. Bob Clark NW ~$7B. Modular factory components + ~50k workers on ~100 U.S. projects — backlog is the money story behind “no AI bubble.”

"Still going to get built" is exactly what the towns fighting these are worried about.

A guy whose fortune quadrupled building data centers says there's no bubble. He's probably right that they'll get built. Whether they all earn their keep is a different question.

Fortune quadrupled in three years, but no bubble. Sure.

Honestly I think he's probably right that they still get built. The NIMBY stuff could slow things down in some areas, but the demand for compute doesn't seem to be going anywhere.
