If they both donated a year's salary, there would be enough to rebuild everyone's home on that island, as well as schools, hospitals etc.

One needs to just take a look at where the company is registered I wouldn’t be surprised if Oprah & Dwayne only gave 5% of the donations given & keep the rest for themselves PS-only a idiot would donate to these two rich jerks who won’t put their hands in their own pockets

Don’t even get me started. I don’t think she realizes how much people dislike her over here. Or maybe she does and that’s we she brought in Duane on this. Disgusting how filthy rich they both are, asking for donations. Maybe if she just gave as much as she did to pay someone off to buy that public road going through her property to upcountry from Kihei that would even the score for her. I was never personally a fan of Oprah. I never had anything bad to say about The Rock. This now reduces my opinion and level of respect for The Rock to absolute lows. He knows what he is doing. They both know what they're doing. Grifters and Scammers. 💯

We see it with Elon Musk, we see it with Bill Gates, and we're seeing it with Oprah now. Yes, Oprah is worth over a billion dollars. No, $10 million doesn't put much of a dent into her net worth, but it's better than nothing. How much money have you donated to Maui? After ‘wildfires’ in Maui so far we know: - no emergency sirens went off on the island to warn people to evacuate - school was cancelled this day due to ‘high winds’ - when residents were trying to use hoses to extinguish flames that were approaching their homes they found out that the water was shut off - fire fighters weren’t able to access the water either - when people were trying to evacuate they met police barricading the road that prevented them to continue driving - the temperature from the fire burned down entire cars yet pain on the roads and and street signs were not damaged - entire houses were destroyed by the fire but in some occasions the wildlife around them was spared - the fire hit so instantly that people were actually found burned in their car like they didn’t see flames coming their way to make an escape - multi million dollar mansions despite of close proximity to fire remained untouched - tourist were the first who were granted access to the area before the locals - authorities were shutting down donations centers and stopping the locals to deliver needed goods For years residents of the island were fighting the elites and investors from grabbing their land and being priced out of their familial homes and now there are talks about the mayor actually evicting fires survivors.
