I get the analogy but Bruce Wayne is the mask

not only did he get Superman wrong, but he also managed to get Batman and Spider-Man wrong too

Totally ass backwards Bruce Wayne is Batman's disguise, who he has to be to avoid suspicion. Clark Kent is who was raised in Kansas as a human, he has those values because of where and who raised him.

The scene isn't about Superman; it's about Bill This scene is Bill characterizing himself, not in a flashback or other POV anymore It shows how corrupting and paranoid he is. He can see the Boy Scout superhero and assume it's a personal attack. Evil can't comprehend good.

Maybe I'm giving QT too much credit, but I read this scene as him saying to us "See how wrong Bill is? He doesn't even understand Spider-Man, Batman, and Superman". Like, he fails to convince Bea because of his complete misunderstanding of so much

Bill was talking about himself and using the concept of Superman and Clark Kent as masks; "Superman" is Bill the crime lord, "Clark Kent" is Bill the man.

I've always hated this line, peter parker is spiderman, but he wears the costume to protect his loved ones, bruce wayne is the alter ego, bruce IS batman, and clark kent is who he is superman is what he can do, his cowardice is his excuse to protect his identity raised as a human

He’s 100% wrong ofcourse. Bruce Wayne might actually be closer to being 100% Batman than Clark is being 100% Superman. Even tho Superman wears no mask, that’s his mask. Bruce Wayne died in crime alley with his parents. Batman was born then, thats who he is now. Bruce is the mask.

This is more true of Batman than Superman

I see this as a villain’s view, on Superman, a bad guy doesn’t see it for what it is, a costume to blend, they see it as something more, a facade, critique, he’s using this point out Beatrix hiding who she really is, but doesn’t understand the hero, cause he himself is not a hero

It makes perfect sense that Bill, the villain and leader of a group of literal assassins, would walk away with the wrong impression of superheroes as a whole and particularly of Superman

You guys saying it’s a horrible interpretation of Superman need to understand he is a VILLAIN. His warped perception of Superman is supposed to show his worldview and psyche

No. Superman is a alien yes but was raised as a human and is Clark Kent form his childhood afterwards he becomes superman and helps world to be a better place, just like any other he also protects his identity and his loved ones with a costume.

This is bullshit. Everyone knows that Bruce Wayne is also a costume for Batman. Batman is only Bruce Wayne for appearances, he is Batman first & foremost. Bruce died the night his parents died. Peter Parker is different because he didn’t choose his powers. It was happenstance.

It is true that Superman is a real self and Clark Kent is the alter ego. But I think it is less a criticism from Superman on humanity and more the creators criticism of men. Weak men that don't stand for nothing are weak. That is why Lois falls for Superman first.
