They had the same disease that everything has caught over the last decade. Where there was people who used to be passionate about nerdy stuff, fantasy, stories of heroism and conflict. Actual politics and exploring characters. Now just resides the exact same people everywhere, the ones who only care about themselves, only passionate about what they're passionate about. They're not really nerds like what you imagine, they're mainly posers. They enjoy stuff like fantasy through things like Critical Role only, they see stories about dragons and heroes and just think "ok, but what does this have to do about me?" That's why you're seeing stuff like Orcs and Dwarves on screen but you're hearing some college student venting about their queer situationship with their roommate. Because it's all just a skinsuit for what really is just the same highschool queer Netflix drama playing out over and over in different forms. That's why everything feels the same yet also out of place. It's why D&D and WoW looks the way that it does. It's why you have a drawing of Dwarves in some forge and yet it looks like you asked AI to turn a photo of a Californian coffee shop filled with students into a fantasy painting but it can't get it right so it's clearly a Starbucks and they're all say around drinking coffee despite being what is supposed to be hardy Dwarves manning a forge. And if you notice and don't like it, well you're just a bigot that everything you love has outgrown. Not that self important not really into that stuff 'theatre kids' are using all your favourite things to roleplay their own interests through.

You can instantly tell when something (especially fantasy) is written by some actual nerd. Who is autistic about Napoleon era battles and politics and some pampered Seattle poser with a nose ring and tattoos of a D20. The basement nerd wizard will actually care about world building, politics, characters, conflict. A poser just cares about how they can explore themselves through the characters and story. That's why it's ALWAYS about identity, queerness and feeling oppressed by everyone around you and that you're actually super amazing and perfect as you are. Themselves is the only thing they genuinely care about and it comes through in all their work and they've slowly taken over every single nerdy hobby that exists. Anything that's popular not because they love it but because it gives them a large audience to talk about themselves to.

It's also why characters aren't allowed to be mean to them. And any that are, are depicted as dumb, evil bigots that you get to cathartically beat up and humiliate. I'm tired of playing games that feel like redditor power fantasies of getting to beat up everyone who disagrees with them, whilst everyone else tells them how totally hot and amazing they are. Especially when you're supposed to be saving the world and actually care about things beyond yourself, like world building.

He gets it. This is cringe millenial writing that treats the player like a 7-year-old.

All of this was done on purpose, it had nothing to do with a budget or timeline, the end result was always going to be a product of sabotage. People at BioWare with actual talent & experience were pushed out by activists looking to change & rewrite the series.

SKILL UP MENTION But yeah, the writing was horrible

If you have to spell out your character's motives and deepest insecurities out loud....Your writing sucks. Not only does it treat the spectators like toddlers, it also makes your so called characters comically self-aware and unnatural.

If I say this is because millennials won’t stop watching kid shows and it shows in their writing….

Brutal. How much or this was just taking mundane, universal human experiences and presenting them as ground breaking personality traits? Like yeah, man. I'm a people pleaser. It's probably something I should work on. It's doesn't make for an interesting personality. Also - Can you please stop talking about it? I'm trying to save the world in my fantasy RPG right now.

Where’s the full video?

This was a Dragon's Age game right? Why does it feel like a dating simulator for awkward teens? 🤣

Whoever did that review nailed it

You can absolutely lay some blame on EA, because EA sucks ass. But the majority of the rot came from within Bioware.

Folks misunderstand the issue. It wasn't one game or bad direction. It was the entire woke agenda that did it. Instead of hiring more talented white male nerds, that built their company, they were forced into "diversity" hiring practices. 50% white, white minority, etc.

That's almost as bad as the 'pulling a Bharv' shit Adolescent, struggle session writing for emotional retards

Never played it, but holy shit this sounds so cringe wtf

This is pure vomit.

I would’ve been totally fine with this had I been able to be mean or evil. Imagine they’re talking like this and you come in there and Shepard-style punch one of them in the face. Or Revan style force one to choke the life out of the other one. Would’ve been incredible.

Today I learned that the dialogue that isn't quite so blatant propaganda in this game is somehow even worse than the dialogue that is.

i didnt even take this game for free when it was on the PSN monthly games lineup for all tiers

The writers were so brain dead, how this even got released is beyond me. Its like therapy language for the overly coddled.

I hated that bs ngl

What's the inspiration for this shit? I play an older Bioware game and I can tell they're influenced by TNG, Buffy etc. What does disappointment era Bioware even draw from to get this inane prattle?

EA killed bioware. Early. "The Serpent's Venom Poisons Slowly After The Bite."

Veilgard writers killed bioware and it's just them

Sounds like an episode of Blue's Clues. Pathetic.

This was boring to watch.

@heyitsgilroy more dogeshit writing

meanwhile, in me, you had shepard interrupt them while arguing and telling them in their face that if they continue this course of action he would kill them and toss them out the airlock, didn´t say that but he heavily implied it.
