🔮 BioXP Update: Expiry Halt and Next Steps We are making some immediate updates to the BioXP system after receiving feedback from the community and as we prepare for the next phase of the Bio Launchpad (Season 2). To recap: BioXP usually expires 14 days after it has been... issued to reduce XP concentration, and ensure launches stay fair & accessible. Updates: 1. XP expiry will be stopped immediately. Expiration of XP will be halted. This pause will remain in place while launches are on hold. 2. BioXP that expired from October 17 onward (14 days after the last launch on Oct 3) will be returned to users. 3. BioXP earned from Oct 3 until the upcoming launch of Season 2 will stay valid and count toward rewards at the start of Season 2. 4. BioXP that expired before Oct 17 (including XP earned before the last launch on Oct 3) will remain expired. These points were part of the most recent round of launches and will therefore not be reinstated. 4. Yapping XP remains paused; and staking is the only way to earn BioXP. Yapping XP in its previous format is ending in favor of new ways to reward creators being released with Season 2. A larger update will follow soon detailing the new launch and XP mechanics in Season 2, including putting BIO staking at the center of the XP system, transparent staking formulas & more. Put another way, in hopefully easier to understand terms: 3. XP earned *after* the last launches (including XP that was previously expired on Oct 17) will be credited to users. In addition, all current XP holders (ie those who have been staking since the last launches, and continue stake until Season 2 goes live) will be eligible for rewards at the start of Season 2. 4. XP earned *before* the last launches on Oct 3 will remain expired, since technically it was part of the last round of launches. Let us know any further questions or areas of confusion.

Ah makes total sense! Thank you much! I haven't logged in today but from what you're saying, I should be getting all my XP back (which vanished due to the issue) since after the last two launches.

i'm sure the team has thought this through but don't you think, the reason for the hype of these launches comes from creators making posts about it? yeah i understand that every project has real utility and is working to solve an issue but still, web3 is not only about utility when it comes to launches. nonetheless, i'll keep supporting the project!

Yes, creators are crucial to the launches and we’ll continue incentivizing creators with XP to make specific content about the ecosystem and new launches. It’ll just be a different format than the Season 1 yapping XP system which was found to be susceptible to bots, farmers and flippers who siphon value. In the next iteration of BioXP we’ll implement mechanisms that focus XP on real voices who are longer-term, incentive-aligned participants.
