It’s a known fact that black women are treated poorly when it comes to obstetrics. This is why you don’t give your sacred baby’s birth experience to a nasty hospital.

I’m a retired RN and THE BABY AND MOTHER need medical care. ESPECIALLY AFTER A C-SECTION. You people just can’t GRASP that these people are professionals. It is STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE that after a C-section is performed, The baby needs monitoring for 24 hours. A C-section is NOT A NORMAL BIRTH. Something happened during the birth. The DOCTOR has EVERY RIGHT, AND A PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITY TO MAKE SURE THAT MOTHER AND BABY ARE WELL ENOUGH TO BE DISCHARGED. You people will never learn. And on TOP OF THAT, there is apparently a physical altercation with the NURSE. Now tell me WHY THE FUCK WOULD A HOSPITAL RELEASE A BABY, PREMATURELY, TO SOMEONE WHO HAS BEEN ACCUSED OF PHYSICAL VIOLENCE?!?! YOU PEOPLE ARE TRULY LACKING IN THE IQ DEPT. She had a c-section. Standard is 48 hours and she attacked people. She's demonstrated that she's not mentally stable and should not go home with the baby at this time. The hospital did the right thing.

This is absolutely not isolated to race. This happens to white women all the time and especially more lately. I’ve become aware of a few scenarios in the past month.. all white if that makes you feel any better. It’s gotten out of control. I’m not sure what has spurred this recent trend but there have been several complaints of the hospitals wanting to hold the babies if parents wish to leave and all baby parameters are fine and parents are threatened with CPS involvement when they ask to leave. This needs to be looked into further.

I don't know about her potentially hitting anyone, but the point still stands that there are a lot of protocols before people are released. It's usually days of testing, treatments etc. Trying to go anywhere with the baby after only a few hours is something I've never heard of.

My friend had a c-section and lost a lot of blood. She was drugged up bc she needed to rest and to reduce pain. A nurse said my friend slapped her…. My friend was literally knocked out for hours there was no way that could’ve happened smhh

You can turn down care. If she doesn't want to stay she doesn't have to. Give her her child and let her go. Claiming I hit you then want to take my child off by yourself... not gonna happen.

This is so fucking stupid. My mother had a C-section and she was in the hospital for a whole 2 days before they sent her home. I remember agitated because I felt mothers who’ve been cut open to deliver life should be cared for for at least a week. The baby CAN NOT LEAVE THE DAMN HOSPITAL FOR 24hrs. That’s standard fucking procedure. Mom also if she is a first time Mom usually will be in the hospital for max 3 days if all is well and 5 (from the hospitals I’ve been in) if they had a C-section. The nurse is doing her damn job. If she lets this lady go home and God forbid she hemorrhages or the incision gets infected, then we will be hearing how the hospital didn’t take care of her because she was black, or worse the darn baby could be in danger of loosing its life. Not to mention the hefty malpractice lawsuit the would ensue. Does racism exist, yes! Is this a racist scenario absoFuckinglutely not. For mama and baby’s safety the nurse did what they had to do. Not sure about the police and whatever else but this lady may have a lawsuit for unlawfully recording in a hospital room without permission.

Not racism at all. The same thing happened with my second child. The hospital wouldn't let the baby leave because she was sick, as it's a liability if the baby dies after leaving without them giveing you a clean bill of health. It's frustrating they can do this, but it has nothing to do with race. Please stop making everything about race!
