This would be a scandal in any properly run organization.

The bearded lady avatar suggest some serious fight-the-patriarchy mojo going on here. The more you complain the more she revels in it. Unless she forcibly has her github access removed, Sadly, v30 with 100k op return is likey coming whether you like it not. I’ve seen too many projects over the decades and even startup ventures go down in flames because of individuals like this. 🙏🏼for some sanity to prevail

It's worse than just someone getting their girlfriend hired. @Excellion hits on it: this was an infiltrate and replace effort that has been widely practiced everywhere from local city councils to popular subreddits. Get people of a certain mindset then coopt the institution.

If what Matthew said is true, we are in a real bad situation, worst since the block size war. Time for some serious house cleaning to get Bitcoin back on track again. Nepotism has no place in the most important project in human history.

Absolutely never ever fund anything from Brink and Chaincode... This is ultra fucked up.... All DEI , Wokeism and other mental illness have to stop in Bitcoin. Glazow is 100% planted to try to destroy BTC

Maybe it's time for @saylor @r0ckstardev @Excellion and many other heavy weights to get involved and start funding a defense to this once in a lifetime miracle of freedom money. It's time for the adults to put these kids in their place. Bitcoin is money!

We should just ditch core and make new clients, in the meantime run pre v.29 core and knots.

Great job exposing this, Matthew! Thank you for all you do - I'm a big fan of your work - You are truly an asset to the right side of Bitcoin history. Cheers! 🙌🏽 That said.. I don't suspect Gloria of being intentionally corrupt through mal-intent... Unintentionally culpable or "useful idiot" is more likely. I say this because I've watched enough of Gloria's interviews to see that she is intelligent, capable, and certainly seems to understand second and third-order effects. She wants to be the young superstar in Core, and loves the role. The disconnect is likely pervasive via the "Progressive" culture Think about it - Removing the Op_Return reflects a very "no-border" type of Progressive policy agenda, where they feel a need to be buzz-word "inclusive" - even when it comes to science (ie: gender), and now with Bitcoin They are okay with "progressing" Bitcoin to make it more "tolerant" to non-monetary transactions and "inclusive" in purpose rather than keeping it strictly just monetary transactions; And they honestly believe their changes will have only beneficial second and third-order effects It's as @saylor says in the clip (see attached) And similar to the way that the altruistic young protester doesn't understand that their socialist ideals will eventually require authoritarian force to implement In any case, We are at a crossroads for Bitcoin's future, for sure, and I believe Bitcoin will inevitably be a major catalyst in the conclusion of the Fourth Turning ✊ Satoshi save us all 🙏🏿😇

Curious minds would like to understand your hiring practices in a bit more detail Perhaps you’d be interested in making a video if your own to explain to us how @mattkratter is wrong Cause at the moment this reeks of foul play based on the details. Why not prove us wrong?

I'm less concerned who has a bad idea, only concerned with the bad idea itself. With experience one may have a clearer perspective on life, universe, everything, so there are fewer bad ideas. But bad ideas are bad ideas. Core should be conservative and pause a contentious change.

This is the most important issue about Bitcoin Core. Anyone remotely in a position to touch core should be selected from devs with impeccable background. Extensive literacy in monetary history, impeccable resume and lack of controversy. Like it or not Core is compromised.

So, the bearded broad is John Newbery's girlfriend. Plus, she graduated from UC Berkeley. No wonder she's pushing this stupidity. She has no idea of what money is. She needs to return to the circus from whence she came.

This is insane, as was her dialog. One may have some skepticism of Knots, but I don't know how anyone has any faith or any conviction in Core, at this point.

Really really trying hard to stay away from politics even for joking (we're all apolitical/anarcho-capitalists /voluntarists/N.A.P or whatever today's flavor is called), but I'll post a joke to lighten our mood. You have a spelling error in the title, there's a t instead of an e.

We need an open foundation to fund @BitcoinKnots development and to dump these idiots altogether. I'd gladly donate.

Thank you for all of your work on this issue… it’s important to name names, rather “core devs” May ALL of the bad actors be sidelined, prevented from doing any harm, their motives revealed, and their backers exposed. The airplane analogy is excellent.

If you want to criticize someone, do it based on intellectual knowledge and the logical opinion they shared and not because of their grade. I bet when Satoshi release the first Bitcoin client, you know nothing about Bitcoin, probably was still in Grade 1.

Essential watching: 'Bitcoin core is a stinking corrupt organization that needs to be shattered into a thousand pieces' Sounds like it Operation disrupt Bitcoin as much as possible You'll probably find the financiers of 'core' buy bitcoin while they campaign to kill it

Core, ‌the Bitcoin-first ‌chain, and how it’s trying to stretch BTC’s usefulness Core DAO (Core DAO 🔶) brands itself as “The Bitcoin Everything Chain.” The pitch is simple: take Bitcoin’s strengths and push them beyond the usual buy-and-hold story. The protocol centers on one main idea: BTC shouldn’t sit still. Core wants idle Bitcoin to earn, but without giving up the properties people care about most: safety, decentralization, and full self-custody. To get there, Core leans on a mix of Satoshi Plus, timelocks, and a quick Layer 1 EVM chain. Satoshi Plus folds in Delegated Proof of Work (so Bitcoin miners can participate), self-custodial Bitcoin staking, and staking of the $CORE token. Core frames the relationship with Bitcoin as mutualistic. It borrows security and incentive alignment from Bitcoin, then tries to send value back through extra miner rewards, trustless yield opportunities for BTC holders, and infrastructure that makes it easier for Bitcoin products to plug in and scale. Key ways Core aims to expand Bitcoin utility: 1.) Self-custodial Bitcoin staking Lock BTC with timelocks directly on the Bitcoin network (CLTV) and earn CORE yield, no wrapping, no bridges, and no handing custody to anyone else. 2.) Dual staking Stake $BTC and $CORE together to reach higher yield tiers. 3.) Tapping Bitcoin’s hash power Miners can delegate hash power to earn extra CORE rewards, while Core itself is secured using a majority share of Bitcoin’s hash rate. 4.) The “Bitcoin Power Grid” A set of rails Bitcoin products can connect to, built around yield, collateral, payments, and DeFi use cases. 5.) Scalable Bitcoin DeFi An EVM-compatible network designed for faster, cheaper BTCFi apps. 6.) Two-way value flow The goal is to strengthen Bitcoin’s security budget over time, while also turning dormant BTC into something that can actively do work. In plain terms, Core DAO’s broader mission is to make Bitcoin more productive without piling on trust assumptions, converting energy and capital tied up in Bitcoin into yield, DeFi activity, and scalable infrastructure.
