That's an old 2022 headline, not new news that Tesla itself is mining BitcoinTesla is not mining Bitcoin. They sold (or provided) solar + battery equipment for a mining pilot run by Block/Blockstream four years ago. Tesla still has not announced any new mining operations.

Bitcoin is one big disaster for the environment. Mining bitcoin requires an inordinate amount of energy, is a terrible investment these days and fuels crime on the dark web. Is this a contender for the worst idea of the 21st century?

🚨🇺🇸 PETER SCHIFF: BITCOIN IS NO SAFE HAVEN IN CRISIS "If people expect Bitcoin to act like gold in a dollar crisis, then they could buy Bitcoin — but there’s nothing in Bitcoin’s past that would indicate that. This environment that I’m envisioning is not very good for tech stocks, so I don’t know why it would be good for for Bitcoin. I think that Bitcoin could just implode. Bitcoin could go down 99% in one day." Source: Peter Schiff

Is BlackRock planning something evil for bitcoin? remember Tesla and Elon Musk adopted bitcoin and then spread fake information about it's energy use in front of the whole world? in 2021 Cathie Wood said she believed BlackRock and ESG institutions pressured Elon to change his stance on bitcoin if true... has BlackRock now realized that bitcoin mining is actually good for the environment because it incentivizes using wasted and renewable energy? and Tesla will start accepting btc again? or is BlackRock planning something sinister
