Bitcoin spot ETF inflows hit $731M, the largest single inflow day since January "Usually when we're talking about what's signal and what's noise we don't talk too deeply about the daily ETF inflows and outflows because it generally gets washed away in the news cycle, but when you have...

One strong jobs report and suddenly $731M of institutional money is stampeding into bitcoin. That's the largest day since January. When the good news is the only reason you're buying, you're not an investor, you're a weather vane.

weeks removed from the bond catalyst and flows still climbing is the only part that actually separates this from a headline pump

That's a great sign for Bitcoin.

$731M in one day is more than noise. When institutional demand broadens beyond BlackRock into six other funds, it suggests the move has real depth. The question now is whether these inflows are chasing Bitcoin’s momentum—or quietly creating the next leg higher?

The key signal isn’t the $731M headline—it’s persistence after the initial catalyst. If inflows keep rising while BTC consolidates, that suggests allocation demand rather than short-term momentum chasing.

Mark Moss says balancing Bitcoin mining against HPC in one facility is the AI boom turning productive "When you understand the way technological revolutions work, about every 50 years we get one of these. We get this cluster of technology that all of a sudden gives us new building blocks to build this new world that we didn't have before. It's happened 6 times in the last 300 years." "You look at the way that the money gets in to fund these technological revolutions, and it sort of goes from speculative capital into productive capital. And I think we're starting to see signs of that rotation actually happening." "Everyone's like, these large scale LLM models, they're building all this and it's gonna be like the railroads, they're gonna go bankrupt. And there's typically that. We have that speculative capital that a lot of times doesn't have a return, unfortunately for those investors. But then the market moves to more productive investments." "That's what we're starting to see in the AI boom. It's maturing a little bit. The job reports that came in, the GDP numbers that are being forecasted, the durable orders that are coming through in manufacturing." "Not only is it capital that was put into the Bitcoin mining facilities, but now they're also providing the HPC. The way that Bitcoin and HPC work together in one facility is really interesting, because Bitcoin is this highly volatile, high beta asset where HPC is this low volatility but high performing asset. You're able to balance those things out." "Bitcoin and the Bitcoin network are what will power it. It's gonna be the building blocks to build the AI." "We have this agentic commerce that's building right now. McKinsey says it's gonna be 5 trillion dollars by 2030. And that's not only driving the profitability of the AI companies, the tokens are exploding, but then the ability to have Bitcoin and the Bitcoin rails for that to all move on."

Former BlackRock fund manager Ed Dowd: "The metals are telling you that there's uncertainty out there and a lack of trust... [and] that gold and silver are going to be part of the new monetary system... [so] gold and silver are the trade and not Bitcoin so much." This clip of Dowd (Edward Dowd), who is also the founder of Phinance Technologies, is taken from a discussion with Michael Farris (Michael Farris) posted to YouTube on January 13, 2026. ---------------Partial transcription of clip--------------- "The metals are telling you that there's uncertainty out there and a lack of trust. I think the big, the moves in gold and silver are really discounting a lack of trust and fear of what is coming and what it's going to look like. And, and also it's also telling you that gold and silver are going to be part of the new monetary system. "And Bitcoin, interestingly enough, has stalled out. It's down 20% since October, the high in October and Bitcoin is barely up today. So, you know, there was always this thesis around Bitcoin that when when there's a new monetary system comes, it's going to, it's going to be protection against, you know, any of that kind of uncertainty. It's increasing. It's becoming increasingly obvious to me that gold and silver are the trade and not Bitcoin so much. "And Bitcoin, unfortunately, is very highly correlated to the Nasdaq and it's disconnected from the Nasdaq. The Nasdaq and Bitcoin have disconnected temporarily. Generally speaking, they're highly correlated. So what does that say? Does that say Nasdaq is going to catch up down to Bitcoin or is Bitcoin going to rally back up? I think that the Nasdaq is going to go down to bitcoin. So that's where we are."
