Bitget CEO Gracy Chen says THORChain shut its system down when it was the victim, but refused her request to block the hacker's addresses "At that time, I don't think I knew exactly how their governance works, nor do I know it now. The key thing is, it's quite... show more

Laura, why are you having everyone on your show except a THORChain representative?

There were cases when they shut down the system? So Thorchain should just shut down because YOU got hacked? So when can it turn back on then? When you recover the funds? Which would be never? What an oddly uninformed CEO making statements

"Can Thorchain Stop the Laundering" as a TITLE?! You're a journalist, maybe you should know the definition of words you are using, especially ones so loaded. NOTHING is laundered via Thorchain, it's all traceable. Hope you're getting a hefty payday for ruining your credibility.

Pls stop applying CEX standard to DEX permissionless standard. Halting the network for its own network security patching vs intentionally pause the network to censor transactions are two very distinctions here. Putting assumption to make these two the same is very irresponsible, as a media.

Sry, what admin key?

What a joke...

Gracy misrepresented this fact: “there were cases where they shut down the system because of other hacks, especially hacks where they themselves were a victim.” When THORChain was robbed May 2025, the system’s solvency system shut THORChain down automatically. Then when “they” (devs and node operators) investigated why it went down; they learned THORChain had been hacked. The shutdown happened before “they” learned—not the other way around. By flipping the order of these two facts it paints an inaccurate picture where devs selectively chose who to assist. This did not happen.

Their own description said this: "The network's automatic solvency detection triggered within minutes, and nodes coordinated a full controlled halt within roughly two hours."

at second 30 of the clip you claim "they have an admin key" that would be wild, after ThorFi! Please inform us where this information came from. Who is "they" and what is this "admin key", what does this key do? and if you haven't researched it Laura, why use those words?

You are putting so much effort into distorting the situation. I am very sorry for you now. At the same time, I am impressed by how strong and strong the community is for Thorchain⚡️, which adequately resists coordinated disinformation.

Please stop blaming external factors like Thorchain or North Korea. They fcked up .

I think this comparison is not fair! THORChain got hacked → they suspended operations to prevent further funds from being drained. Bitget got hacked → you suspended operations (i.e., customer withdrawals) to prevent further funds from being drained.

Ethereum has rolled back their chain in the past. Did you reach out to Vitalic to undo the transfer of stolen funds? Why is your hack THORchains problem? The real lesson here is to never trust a CEX with your money.

Any chains go down when exploited/bug fix the bug and comes back. You never seen chains like sol/eth/btc block an address because it's not in the protocol, same for thorchain. both of you are dumb. and no they don't have admin "keys" this is not a cex like NEAR

Whats up with all the deflection. Surely you dont start a scammy exchange and hope to get bailed out by unrelated protocols after adding nothing to the industry?

Bitget seems like they are the wrong doer here. Not TC!

"I didn't know how their Governance works, nor I do it now!" I stopped watching the video, she sounds incompetent. Information is public.

why don't you for a change ask about how it was possible to get hacked in the first place? i'm sure other cex's want to learn from their mistakes,no? btw. it's not laundering and as far as i know there is no admin key, pls. put more effort into your research, before broadcasting

@THORChain slap 👋 you in your face. An interview full of nonsense and lies, portraying them as the victims. Garbage 🗑️ @bitget

FT @GracyBitget

that is really not a good way to handle the situation apparently

@GracyBitget Why don't you care about the cause, your shitty system full of holes, instead of @THORChain? Why are you still crying and blaming others instead your stupid devs?

Can you please update the ticker prices on your shows please. $ZEC isn't trading at $42, neither is $HYPE at $18.

Absolute pussys

@grok how much gracy chen makes/net worth?

"I don't think I knew exactly how their governance works, nor do I know it now." But that will not stop me from having a strong opinion about it. Is that a Bitget CEO? Responsible for $388M Hack?

looks like people beat me to it in the comments 😅

The first thing would be to stop talking about laundering when there is no obfuscation. So yes Thorchain is not preventing the swap, but in no world this is money laundering because YOU CAN TRACE EVERYTHING
