So.. here is what happened templar founder took offense to some actions made by #bittensor co-founder Konstantin Martynov He/they then made the decision to announce they are leaving the #Bittensor network In the process.. then made the incredible decision to dump 37,000 $TAO worth of subnet alpha tokens across Grail, Basilica and Templar A move that has completely destroyed the investments of everyone who followed and trusted these guys over the past few months/year Expecting anyone to follow you elsewhere after making such an incredibly irrational and dumb decision that screwed all your investors by nuking the token yourself.. good luck This, imo.. looks like a rug for max extraction Maybe that's wrong but that's exactly how it looks to me.. Its a massive fucking shame after Templar had the largest public exposure of any subnet to date, thanks to positive breakthroughs in pretraining I cannot express how disappointed I am in all this #Bittensor will grow stronger.. People really need to revisit their preconceived notions on $TAO. This week on Steady Lads > Bittensor has "gotten past so many halvenings" / "Overspent its emissions" Bittensor had its first halvening event on Dec. 14, 2025 and will not have another halvening until Dec 2029 as it follows the same halvening schedule at Bitcoin. By this logic Bitcoin also overspent its incentives when it paid 50 BTC a block to people mining on laptops who contribute nothing to the network today. > "Become overly gamified" The point on Bittensor incentives being overly gamified is a fair critique of Bittensor from like 2 years ago, but has not been updated to account for upgrades and subnet improvement. dTAO: made emissions a market based system where subnet owners need to attract investment in order to earn emissions from the chain. Before dTAO subnet owners had to convince top validators to give them emissions. Post dTAO subnet owners need to convince a whole market. Emissions at the subnet level have also become more difficult to earn, not less, as owners refine incentive mechanisms and miner competition rises. But hey if you still think Bittensor is gameable, Bittensor is a permissionless protocol so feel free register a UID and start mining.
