(41.9m) 39% of SNAP recipients are white 27% of SNAP recipients are black (I left out Hispanic, Asian, blah blah blah for sake of conversation) 69% of Americans are white (231.9m) so it only makes sense that this would reflect in SNAP recipients. Only 12.5% of Americans are black (41.6m), so that should reflect a low number in SNAP recipients, yes? No. Let’s continue. 11.3m SNAP recipients are black. This equates to over 1/4 of the entire black population receiving some form of welfare. Alarm bells should be ringing. In turn, 16.3m SNAP recipients are white. This accounts for less than a tenth (7.02% to be exact) of the white population receiving welfare. (Still alarming.) As far as political affiliation of SNAP recipients, let’s just say I’ve never met a man with a MAGA hat and a food stamp card.
