I've noticed a new trend on podcasts with Africans. Where black people from Africa call themselves Black Americans, and they call black people from America, African-American. It's weird. I have nothing against Africans or pan-africanism. I just think it's weird. It should be the other way around. Why wouldn't they want to be African Americans? It describes their situation the best. It's a head scratcher.

I thought the issue stems from Black "others" not wanting to drop their respective ethnicities & to just walk around identifying as "just Black". Every group do have their own history, culture, traditions, food & music apart from skin color.
