Ever wonder what goes into swapping out a shredded, clicking CV axle? Here is exactly how a professional tech gets it done right. 1. The Diagnosis & Teardown Spotting the Damage: First look at the inner joint reveals a completely torn rubber boot slinging black grease everywhere, with a ton of loose play in the shaft. Breaking It Loose: An impact wrench makes quick work of the heavy axle nut right in the center of the wheel hub. Clearing a Path: To get enough room to swing the steering knuckle out of the way, the outer tie rod end and lower ball joint are disconnected with a few solid hammer taps to break the taper loose. Dropping the Strut: The two massive bolts securing the knuckle to the lower suspension strut are backed out. The Pull: With the knuckle freed up, the outer splines slide out of the hub, and a pry bar pops the inner joint straight out of the transmission. 2. Prepping the New Part The Match-Up: Side-by-side comparison with the brand-new unit to double-check that the overall length, spline count, and ABS rings match perfectly. Grease Up: A healthy layer of fresh chassis grease is applied to the new transmission-side splines to guarantee a smooth slide-in and prevent future seizing. 3. Reassembly & Lock Down Going In: The new green-housed axle is carefully guided into the transmission tunnel until the internal snap ring clicks into place. Hub Alignment: The steering knuckle is swung back into position while feeding the outer splined shaft perfectly through the center of the wheel hub. Buttoning It Up: The heavy-duty strut bolts are slammed back in, the tie rod end is re-secured, and everything is torqued down to spec with the impact and a box wrench. The Final Lock: The new axle nut is fully cranked down, and a fresh locking pin is fed through the spindle and bent into place with pliers so it can never back off on the road. Solid, tight, and ready for a test drive.

3-on-1 Brawl Erupts on Pattaya’s Walking Street as Thais Appear to Gang Up on Lone Foreign Tourist A violent street fight involving three Thai men against a single foreign tourist was captured on video in the early hours of Wednesday morning in the heart of Pattaya’s famous Walking Street. The incident, which occurred around 4 a.m. on May 27th, was shared by the popular local Facebook page “Pattaya One Day, Thousand Stories.” The 46-second clip shows the three Thais, two of whom were wearing black vests resembling security guard uniforms from entertainment venues, confronting and assaulting the lone foreigner in the middle of the road. In the footage, both sides adopt Muay Thai stances before the fight escalates into a chaotic brawl. The three Thai men repeatedly attempt to swarm and punch the tourist, who fights back vigorously. At one point, one of the Thais is knocked to the ground, but the group quickly regroups. One Thai man delivers a powerful punch to the foreigner’s face, causing him to drop to his knees. The Thais then continue their assault in an attack until a friend of the tourist, wearing a white shirt, intervenes to stop the beating. The clip ends abruptly shortly after. The original post carried a mocking caption in Thai that read roughly: “When the farang wants to try Thai boxing… the guards open the ring! Thai service-hearted guards offer a special promotion: ‘Buy 1, get plenty free’, cleared OTOP style.” A reporter from The Pattaya News visited the scene around 8:30 a.m. near a Agogo bar in a side soi off Walking Street. The area was closed and quiet, with only a few staff members present. No one at the location reported witnessing the incident, and staff suggested returning during nighttime hours for more information. According to the Facebook page, the video was submitted by one of their followers. They stated that the foreigner reportedly approached the group of Thais first, which led to the confrontation spiraling out of control. As of now, there are no reports of arrests or official police involvement, and the identities of those involved have not been released.

CSS Tip! 🎠 You can create a responsive infinite marquee animation with container queries and no duplicate items 🤙 li{ animation: slide; } @keyframes slide { to { translate: 0% calc(var(--i) * -100%);}} The trick is animating the items, not the list 😎 More tricks 👇 To get this one working, you need to animate the items and not the list (Watch the video first?). Each item needs to know its row index (--i) in the list and the parent needs to know how many rows are in the list: ul { --count: 12; } li:nth-of-type(1), li:nth-of-type(2) { --i: 0; } li:nth-of-type(3), li:nth-of-type(4) { --i: 1; } Once you have that, translate each item based on its row index in the list li { translate: 0% calc((var(--count) - var(--i)) * 100%); } Now for the animation. The key here is that each row has an animation-delay calculated from its index (--i). That number is offset to make it negative so the animation start is offset ✨ ul { --duration: 10s; } li { --delay: calc((var(--duration) / var(--count)) * (var(--i) - 8)); animation: slide var(--duration) var(--delay) infinite linear; } Make sure to wrap that animation in: @media (prefers-reduced-motion: no-preference) { ... } Lastly, the fun parts! 🤓 To create the "vignette" mask. Use a layered mask on the container 😷 .scene { --buff: 3rem; height: 100%; width: 100%; mask: linear-gradient(transparent, white var(--buff) calc(100% - var(--buff)), transparent), linear-gradient(90deg, transparent, white var(--buff) calc(100% - var(--buff)), transparent); mask-composite: intersect; } To create the 3D skewed effect, use a chained transform (Try toggling it in the demo ⚡️): .grid { transform: rotateX(20deg) rotateZ(-20deg) skewX(20deg); } As for the responsive part, use container queries! 🔥 article { container-type: inline-size; } When the article (card) is narrower than 400px update the grid and animation settings 🤙 Double the rows means double the duration! @container (width < 400px) { .grid { --count: 12; grid-template-columns: 1fr; } li:nth-of-type(1) { --i: 0; } li:nth-of-type(2) { --i: 1; } li:nth-of-type(3) { --i: 2; } li:nth-of-type(4) { --i: 3; } li { --duration: 20s; } } CSS has the magic to be able to update those animations at runtime based on your custom property values 😎 An added bonus in this demo is that it doesn't require any JavaScript at all, for any of it 🤯 We can use CSS :has() for those toggles that update the styles, even the theme toggle! 🫶 Any questions, let me know! Make sure to check out the video. Will do a walkthrough one to follow-up 🤙 CodePen.IO link below! 👇

F350 Rear Differential Service done right. Step by step pure ASMR. If you want to keep your heavy-duty truck running smoothly, keeping up with your differential maintenance is non-negotiable. Whether you are dealing with a standard cover or a high-capacity unit, taking the time to properly clean, seal, and refill your rear diff will save you from major mechanical headaches down the road. Here is a comprehensive breakdown of the exact process shown in the video to get the job done right. Step 1: Remove the Housing Bolts Pop the truck up on a lift or secure it on jack stands. Position a drain pan underneath the differential. Grab an impact wrench and begin backing out all of the bolts securing the differential cover to the housing. Pro-Tip: Leave one or two bolts loosely threaded at the very top of the cover. This keeps the cover from falling completely off and splashing old gear oil everywhere once you break the factory seal. Step 2: Drain the Old Fluid Once the lower bolts are removed, use a chisel and a dead-blow hammer to gently tap the lower edge of the cover. Pry it open slightly to break the old gasket seal and let the fluid drain smoothly into your catch pan. Once the majority of the oil has drained, remove the top safety bolts and take the cover completely off. Step 3: Prep the Differential Housing With the gears exposed, stuff a clean shop rag inside the housing cavity to protect the ring and pinion from any loose debris. Use a gasket scraper or razor to carefully peel away the old silicone sealant from the mating surface. Follow up with a die grinder equipped with a surface conditioning disc to polish the flange completely clean, then remove the rag and wipe down the interior edge with brake cleaner. Step 4: Deep Clean the Diff Cover Take the removed differential cover over to a parts washer. Use a solvent brush to scrub out any residual sludge, metal filings, and old oil. If the exterior has built-up road grime or rust, give it a quick pressure wash or hose down. Finally, use an air blow gun to thoroughly dry the cover, ensuring absolutely no moisture or solvent remains inside. Step 5: Apply New RTV Sealant Lay the clean cover flat on your workbench. Grab a high-performance RTV silicone sealant (ensure it is rated for gear oil exposure) and lay down a clean, continuous bead along the center of the mating flange. Make sure to loop around the inside of each bolt hole to prevent future leaks. Step 6: Reinstall the Cover and Torque Carefully align the cover back onto the differential housing, making sure not to smudge the fresh RTV bead. Hand-start all of your bolts to avoid cross-threading. Once they are all in place, use a ratchet to tighten them down in a star pattern, ensuring even pressure across the gasket surface. Step 7: Fill with Fresh Gear Oil Locate the fill plug on the side or rear of the differential and remove it. Grab your premium synthetic fluid—such as SAE 75W-85 hypoid gear lubricant. Insert the bottle nozzle into the fill hole and squeeze the fluid in. You will need to continue filling until the fluid level reaches the bottom edge of the fill hole and just begins to weep out. Step 8: Reinstall the Fill Plug & Inspect Wipe away any excess fluid that leaked out during the filling process. Reinstall the fill plug and torque it to spec. Give the entire assembly one final look to ensure your seals are clean and dry.

What can these five babies teach us about language development? This week I’ve been exploring the stages of infant language acquisition. And today, I’ve done something special: curated a compilation of five videos tracing the progression of infant vocalizations over time. As you watch, note that each new clip represents a step forward in expressive language (and, obviously, age). So let’s meet our five babies! 1) Baby Number One, shared to TT by natashatenen, illustrates a concept I first introduced yesterday: Cooing. Note that her happy vocalizations are mostly extended vowel sounds. One of the first sounds babies make other than crying, cooing typically begins between 6 weeks and 3 months. 2) Now let’s meet Baby Number Two (shared to TT by putdewyy). He’s not far past the cooing stage… lots of vowel sounds are on display here…but he’s starting to make the transition to babbling. Notice how his vowel sounds are now supplemented by some initial consonants. He adds some “buh” and “bah” sounds. Babbling typically begins with single syllables (often buh, muh, and/or duh) between 4-6 months. It’s a subtle but important step forward. 3) You’ll notice that Baby Number Three’s speech is marked by a real qualitative upgrade in terms of both clarity and content. This little one, shared to TT by Vanessa.Fiorella, is demonstrating what is known as canonical babbling - which involves the repetition of a single syllable. While Baby Two managed a “bah” sound, Baby Three is firing them off in rapid succession: “bah-bah-bah-bah.” Canonical babbling often begins around 6-7 months. 4) Baby Number Four takes the complexity up a notch further. What you see in this video (shared to TT by sofiaandsofie1) is called variegated babbling - which combines multiple different syllable combinations. (“Duh-dah-di-di-di-dah”) Do you notice how variegated babbling is starting to resemble conventional/adult speech more and more? It’s commonly exhibited around 10-12 moths. 5) And then, just for the fun of it, I’ve included Baby Number 5 - who became a viral sensation last winter for the amazing complexity of his variegated babbling. The video, shared to TT by Xxbur5, shows a little guy with a cold diaper and a linguistic capacity that - only months after first babbling - has progressed exponentially and will soon make way for his first words. Isn’t it amazing to trace this progression? Grateful to all these creators for capturing videos so we can all learn from them together. Hope you enjoyed this language development super cut!

✨ has now gone from $0 to $1 million ARR in just 17 days! 💸 Revenue update: $87,000 MRR (which is $1M ARR) My first project ever to go up this fast 🤯 Only 3 ads left now: 📊 Stats update: 320,000 people have now flown in the game Whether the MRR is truly sustainable for a year we can only guess, but they ARE subscriptions and they do renew so as long as the game keeps improving it might happen? 🛸 Since I kept getting hacked by UFO invaders, I decide to sell the UFOs, and coincidentally new sponsor Basecamp wanted an UFO as the origin of 37 Signals (their original company name) comes from the 37 radio signals detected from space to detect extraterrestrial life, so I built them a custom UFO with their original snow globe logo on top which you can see flying around below And I have one new sponsor that sells Ozempic so got the text on the blimp "are you as big as a blimp? lose weight at 😂 I was ski'ing today so was AFK mostly but I did: ✅ Fix more XSS issues, which to be fair unless you explicitly ask it to find every single XSS loophole, AI doesn't really care about when it writes code, so you really gotta ask it to extra check your code cause honestly it can be full of security holes One unlucky (or lucky) thing is that this project took off completely unpredicted and it happened just when I was on travel with gf to France and Switzerland. I didn't wanna lock myself up in a room all day computering so I actually spend most of the days just doing fun stuff with her (as I should) and then in the evening when I got an hour (like now), scrambling and quickly getting things done That would never be possible if I coded it without AI though, it would simply take too much time. Without AI it would have taken me 10-100x more time and I would have simply not been able to build this and maintain it at the same speed AI really is a creativity and speed maximizer for me, making me just way more creative and more fast I still mostly use Cursor + Anthropic Claude 3.5 and trying 3.7 too now! I'm excited to get more time in the next few days so I can really add some new things, one thing I want is to put a big 3d leaderboard INSIDE the game with the scores on it for example
