Black people created and evolved tap dance; however, that history is being erased. A white man, Fred Astaire, is credited with the advancement of tap dancing. But he could not dance with blacks because their powerful tap style was too dominant for him to keep up with.

Silky got embarrassed about being seen wearing tap-dance shoes and immediately ran to the bathroom to take them off after Adapt spotted him learning tap dance with Yonna and asked what he was wearing on his feet then started acting like he wasn’t wearing them 👀😭

One of the many reasons Michael Jackson is so admired is his incredible versatility, no matter the dance style jazz, tap, funk, or street dance, he mastered it with elegance and made it uniquely his. A true artist in every sense of the word 🤍

The Revolutionary War started with the death of a black man, was saved by a black man, and was ended with the crucial help of a black man. So, I don’t know how Joy Reid can say black people shouldn’t view the Fourth of July as their Independence Day too. Unless she just doesn’t know history, which is my guess. She’s right to say that black American history was erased. But do you know who she has to thank for that? The early 20th century progressives.

Look at the tap dancing around Dana White slapping his wife. Suddenly they’re not down with cancel culture or “judging people by their worst moment.” That’s not what they said about Kyrie Irving, and not what they’d say if Dana White was BLACK.

Rita Hayworth and Fred Astaire dance to “The Shorty George” in You Were Never Lovelier (1942), directed by William A. Seiter. “The Shorty George”: This number required more rehearsal time than all the other dances together. A synthesis of American Swing or Jive with virtuoso tap dancing is performed by Astaire and Hayworth, both in top form and exuding a sense of fun in an arrangement by Lyle “Spud” Murphy. The title refers to a popular dance step of the time, attributed to George “Shorty” Snowden, a champion Black American dancer at Harlem’s Savoy Ballroom and reputed inventor of the Lindy Hop or Jitterbug dance styles. Here, as in the “Pick Yourself Up” and “Bojangles of Harlem” numbers from Swing Time, composer Jerome Kern belied his claim that he couldn't write in the Swing style.

Tom Holland reveals his biggest regret in life is giving up dancing after training 6 hours a day for 3 years Tom Holland: You know what I regret most in life is when I was in Billy Elliot when I was a kid, I was dancing every day for 6 hours for about 3 years, and I got to such a high level, and then I just gave up. And I quit dancing. So, I dance if I'm in a club, but I don't really go to dance classes anymore, so my biggest regret is giving up dancing. Q: Can you do, like, club-style dancing, or do you do kind of ballet? Tom Holland: I just do bar work. (Laughter) Tom Holland: Yeah. No, no, I mean I can dance, yeah. I like tap dancing. Tap dancing is my favorite type of dancing. Q: In the club? Tom Holland: Not in ,you wouldn't be able to hear it, would you? That'd be a nightmare.

Black men know not to help wandering white girls asking for help. But she did not ask him for help, so why is he volunteering? He should feel that being a Black man alone with a lost white girl is a situation where he won't be given the benefit of the doubt of being innocent.

The untouchable Vera Ellen performing in the 1945 film “Wonder Man”. In this performance segment we see her performing her astonishing nerve taps and toe dancing. It can be said Hollywood had never seen anything like it. This performance is staggering when one considers that tap dancing was not her “main” dance form because she acquired so many. Observe just how well she has completely mastered the art of tap dancing. She had extensive knowledge - in multiple genres of dancing. Considered by many critics the most versatile dancer in Hollywood history. Able to perform anything from classical ballet, acrobatics, gymnastics, or ballroom, and jazz. In the words of her two-time dance partner Fred Astaire: “Anything you wanted to do.” She had no technical limitations. She executes taps proficiently with both the left and right foot with strength of equal measure en pointe, and without pointe shoes which makes it even more miraculous. This has never since been replicated by another dancer, nor captured on screen again. She truly was remarkable.

Michael’s greatness will never cease to impress me. He was only 18 years old here and paying tribute to the greats with amazing tap routines. Important to remember that he was NOT professionally trained. He taught himself to dance this way. Pure unadulterated talent!!!
