People love to run wild with theories about the ending. Remember, one piece ending was decided years before we got into the world govt issue. It was going to wrap up by defeating all the warlords of the sea. Story grew bigger though but the ending remains the same as Oda said.

Black Beard will definitely seize the opportunity to take the throne and with Imu doing this power move he might even briefly crush the Straw Hats but due to whatever binds him to the holy lands he might be heading right into a trap while weakened from his actions in Elbaf.

Still going to have to deal with the Holy Knights AND The Gorosei even if Imu leaves. As much as I could actually agree with Blackbeards motives and movement with this, battle wise he would lose due to sheer power alone from the World Gov’t. Gorosei alone could destroy the Blackbeard Pirates
