In the official SH2 novel he quickly understood her trauma even though she never told him, and he always excused her aggression because he understood her pain. An example is this scene. He knows she feels unwanted and says he's happy to see her (unlike her mother who didn't want to see her) because he wants to bring her some comfort. He also suggests they should leave the town together, even though he hasn't found Mary. He never suggested the same to Laura, even though she's a child and she's alone. Angela brings out a much more "human" and empathetic side of James that he doesn't show to any other character, not even to Laura or Mary. I know I’ll get negative comments on this, but I'll share my thoughts on the statement “I love animals more than people”. This is often an escape mechanism for not doing the work required to feel fully comfortable in your own authenticity. Yes, animals feel safer, more predictable, less judgemental. And yes, some people are manipulative, cruel, or predatory. But turning that into “humanity is bad” is not wisdom, it’s fear solidified into identity. It’s not a competition between who deserves more love, animals or people. They both deserve love. In the most authentic form, this is not even a discussion worth having. A lot of emotionally sensitive people confuse emotional safety with moral superiority. Loving animals while rejecting people is not compassion, it’s self-protection. Some people will judge you and that’s fine. Some people will reject you and that’s fine. Some people will misunderstand you and that’s fine. Once you are truly comfortable in who you are, the world stops feeling so threatening. And if this post makes you uncomfortable, maybe sit with that discomfort for a moment instead of immediately fighting it. #love

Here is Mehdi Hasan once again trying to apply a standard on Muslims to water down Islamic terrorism that somehow never gets applied to ANY OTHER PEOPLE! Interesting the bigotry of low expectations. Mehdi is careful with the words he chooses. He didn't say even 90%... he said 100% (well, 110%). Two of the fatwa in 1996 & 1998 against the US was specifically due to us being "in the holy land" even though we were INVITED by the country's own government to be there. You can say it makes sense that SOME may not like that or even be angry... but to twist that into a water down (arguably, justification) reason for targeting almost exclusively CIVILIANS is an insane take! And for some reason, you only see this justification with Muslim Groups/Muslim-Majority nations!
