The Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind has challenged the constitutional validity of the Waqf (Amendment) Act, 2025, in the Supreme Court, as this law is a direct attack on the country's constitution, which not only provides equal rights to its citizens but also grants them complete religious freedom. This bill is a dangerous conspiracy to strip Muslims of their religious freedom. Therefore, we have challenged the Waqf (Amendment) Act, 2025, in the Supreme Court, and the state units of Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind will also challenge the constitutional validity of this law in the High Courts of their respective states. Once again I have been denied permission to address the time honoured religious gathering of Khawaja diger in Naqshband sahab today,with tens of thousands of people eagerly waiting there to participate in this spiritually uplifting religious congregation observed on the 3rd of Rabi-Ul-Awwal each year, and have been put under house arrest ! Preventing me from addressing congregational religious occasions as the Mirwaiz, to punish me for my political outlook and for raising social and religious concerns of people, while a reflection of the now familiar repressive mindset of rulers, is still unfortunate and shameful to say the least . What is worse is the continued insensitivity and disrespect for the religious rights and practices of Muslims by the authorities by denying them the right to hear the sermon and participate in a spiritual experience. Continued silence on it ,will only lead to normalisation of repression of religious rights of Muslims. It is the duty of all ,especially the elected Government to safeguard the religious rights of Muslims of the valley as well as Jammu and stand up to the powers and make them relent.

Islamic Republic of Pakistan is a country where Hindus and Christians, two large religious communities live as a minority. In Pakistan, Hindus and Christians together constitute a mere 3% of the total population and they live under one of the most horrendous, horrific and pitiful conditions of religious minorities living under Muslim majority rule. Both Hindus and Christian communities of Pakistan are unfortunate victims of violence, harassment, forced conversion to Islam, kidnappings, killings, massacres, destruction of Hindu temples and Christian churches, forced marriages of young Hindu & Christian girls, caste discrimination against Dalit & Adivasi Hindus of Sindh province and Dalit Christians of Punjab province of Pakistan. There was an India before this Bill. The India that comes after this Bill strikes at the very fabric of our Constitution and the intent of its makers. Today, the government is asking us to hand over a blank cheque. This Bill contains no clear mention of limits such as a 50% increase, no clarity on the basis of delimitation, and no transparent safeguards to prevent arbitrary action. It leaves open the possibility of an unfair, unjust delimitation process and places enormous power in the hands of a committee that will be appointed by the executive itself. How can this be called fair in a functioning democracy? How are we expected to trust a government that, over the past 12 years, has repeatedly pushed through draconian laws without meaningful consultation or consensus in Parliament? Laws that reshape institutions, alter balances of power, and weaken the spirit of federalism! As Chief Minister Thiru M.K.Stalin has rightly said, this is a fight we are prepared to take to the streets and to the people of Tamil Nadu. Because when faith in the parliamentary process is eroded, the responsibility to defend constitutional values must return to the people themselves. #Delimitation #TNWillFightTNWillWin

The Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Amendment Bill, 2026, which presents as a reform, is in reality a retreat from constitutional morality, judicial guidance and the hard-fought rights of one of the most marginalized communities in our country. The transgender community in India has endured centuries of exclusion, stigma and violence. Any law that claims to protect them must be expansive, inclusive and rooted in dignity. The most alarming feature of this Bill is the complete removal of the definition of a transgender person as it exists in the 2019 Act. The decisions we make in this House will shape the lives of countless individuals. The punishment under these laws ranges from three to ten years, along with a fine between 10,000 and 3 lakh. But is it sufficient? Why don’t we have a nationwide law in force, a fast-track court system for trials, and legal aid for the victims? Are we waiting for the time when Hindu girls will be dragged out of their houses, taken to courts, and converted for nikah in front of their parents, as has happened in Pakistan? Here's what I think. Tulsi Gabbard, who will be the Director of National Intelligence under Trump, introduced a resolution in the US Congress in 2021 for the protection of Hindu minorities in Bangladesh; she strongly criticized the Pakistan Army for the atrocities committed against Hindu minorities in 1971. Her statement is as follows: As a member of Congress, I introduced a resolution that called for the protection of Hindus and religious minorities in Bangladesh—people who continue to be targeted and persecuted to this day. Now, the height of this persecution actually began 50 years ago when the Pakistani army systematically murdered, raped, and drove from their homes millions of Bengali Hindus because of their religion and ethnicity. March 25th, 1971, was the beginning of a systematic targeting of Hindus in Bangladesh by the Pakistani military. It began in Hindu neighborhoods and villages, first at Jaganath Hall, which was a Hindu dormitory in Dhaka University, where 5,000 to 10,000 people were killed. On that first night alone, this genocidal campaign continued for 10 months, resulting in 2 to 3 million people killed, hundreds of thousands of women and girls raped, and more than 10 million forced to flee their homes. US Senator Ted Kennedy went to visit the Bangladeshi refugees at that time and said, quote, "Nothing is more clear or more easily documented than the systematic campaign of terror and its genocidal consequences launched by the Pakistan army on the night of March 25th. Hardest hit have been members of the Hindu community who have been robbed of their lands and shops, systematically slaughtered, and in some places, painted with yellow patches marked with an H." End of quote. The Islamist persecution of Hindus and other religious minorities in Bangladesh didn't end with Bangladesh's independence. That campaign continues to this day with horrific targeted attacks, murders, homes being burned down, and families who continue to be forced to flee. In the early 1900s, Hindus made up roughly 33% of Bangladesh's population. Because of this persistent Islamist campaign targeting Hindus, just 8% of Bangladesh's population are Hindus today. Just a few days ago in Bangladesh, hundreds of hardline Islamist extremists attacked Hindu temples, destroyed a train, set fire to government buildings at the press club and public buses, leaving dead and injured behind. Unfortunately, the Islamists' campaign of terror against Hindus, other religious minorities, secularists, atheists, and others in Bangladesh is not unique. It's been going on for centuries, prior to US regime change wars in Iraq, Libya, and Syria, which either toppled or weakened secular authoritarian leaders who protected religious minorities from Islamist jihadists. There were 1.5 million Christians in Iraq and 2.2 million in Syria. Now there are an estimated 200,000 to 300,000 Christians in Iraq and 450,000 in Syria. Afghanistan was a very multireligious country, which included Hindus, Buddhists, and Zoroastrians, prior to the Islamist takeover. Today, it is estimated there are around 1,000 Hindus who remain. Religious minorities make up less than 1% of Afghanistan's population. Until the leaders of the United States and the world condemn and commit to defeating the Islamist exclusivist ideology—an ideology which holds that all non-Muslims and many so-called "heretical" Muslims need to be wiped from the face of the earth, enslaved, or at the very least kept as second-class citizens without the right to own land, worship openly, etc.—like in Pakistan, the jihadist campaign of terror will continue throughout the world.
