Was not expecting to wake up to 150k views on TikTok with generally all positive comments… that’s a first 😅

loved your Vision Pro video! I had the chance to try it and as a legally blind user results were mind-blowing

I think @Apple should hire you as a brand ambassador outright. @tim_cook ^^^

@the_ross_man I think the description of the post and some of the stuff in the video is misleading. There's a reason why people with different eye issues needs prescription lenses for XR displays as well. But it is great to know that the AVP has lots of accessibility features

My vision is classified as blindness by the US government and medical fields. AVP does offer prescription lenses - I have a prescription but it only magnifies slightly and doesn’t improve vision beyond being legally blind. When I put the AVP on it out details I normally never see up to my eyes. I could see detail in the Apple employee’s face I couldn’t see before I put them on. In short, the AVP’s cameras aren’t perfect but they’re much better than my under developed eyes. By putting that clearer image of the distance to my face, I could see my surroundings in greater detail without even zooming into the field of view.

I also see more clearly through AVP (and other VR headsets) than I do without glasses, but not as clearly as with glasses. I think the primary reason for this is that when using a VR headset your eyes are focused at a fixed distance (~1.5m) regardless of what you are looking at.

How is that blind?

My eye doctor and the government classify me as 'Blind' and or 'Legally Blind'. Blindness even for people with less vision than me isn't just an off switch for most people. It's a spectrum. As someone with only 5% of sight that is distorted and isn't correctable wouldn't be labeled sighted if I'm 95% blind.
