YEAH,, i honestly think it could be a mix of both. like someone who is scared of relationships bc of his trauma but also does not feel romantic attraction to the point where other people do and doesnt fully understand that and doesnt get how he's supposed to act in a relationship

i think it's fair to draw some connections and see that he HAD a crush on fizz, and the way That ended up made him reject romance entirely for fear of hurting them and himself again, but it doesn't really matter where it stems from, he doesn't owe romantic attraction

and honestly I see the signs of The Writing handling a character's romantic rejection badly in alastor and vox too and it has always made me cringe a lil bit

it was really weird it painted alastor as the villain for not accepting a proposal which the show framed as SOME sort of romantic confession even if not directly. which i do not really like.
