Bloomberg hosts acknowledge that had Trump not targeted Canada so aggressively, Canada might have had a leader (Poilievre) more receptive to “fortress North America” rather than doubling down on the failed globalization model. Greer: “would he have been though?”

Trump‘s aggression towards Canada was an absolute gift on a silver platter for Poilievre. He blew it by falling in line behind Trudeau and then Carney, rather than using it to attack the liberals and win a spectacular majority government. Poilievre’s lack of testosterone and lack of political savvy blew the biggest opportunity since Mulroney took out Turner.

No. Canadians are brainwashed to hate American conservatives. If he had been more welcoming they would have blamed that. Liberals are NPCs with one mission, don’t be fooled.

While I think Poliviere would have been better than Carnage, I still think he is a wolf in sheeps clothing. Honestly, Canada doesn't have anyone that has earned trust, especially the majority of the population. I fear that Canada has moved far beyond the point of no return with your Prime Sinister Carnage. I hurt for our friends in Canada. May God bless and uplift you until sanity returns.

I agree. Trump should have stayed out.

Poilievre is not a wef globalist

Lets be clear, the US wanted canada to help stop drug trafficking and human trafficking at the boarder. Carney said NO Trump slapped a tarrif. Canada is not innocent, canada chose the dark path.

The problem with Pierre Poilievre is he doesn't really have a strong opinion, and stays in the script, and comes over programmed, robotic and opinionless. He tries to please everyone at the same time and ends up alienating everyone. He should grow a spine, say what have to be said, or be replaced with someone who will "So, because you are lukewarm-neither hot nor cold-I am about to spit you out of my mouth."

@jamiesongreer Yes. 💯 He would have!

Oh...hurty words hurt our feelings so we put Carney in charge. They were calling Polivere a Trump sycophant and made him lose in 2025, ie. the apple eating interview.

By Trump saying that he would rather deal with weak kneed liberals than conservatives, he pushed the deciding votes to Carney and his globalist agenda. Trump needs to take some responsibility for the debacle Canada and the USA are in.

You are are seriously using Bloomberg to push CPC BS narratives... CPC is the Crowns fallback party once Liberals are ousted as per usual. Bloomberg is Carney's GFANZ, Climate Fraud etc.. partner and even tried to become the US President in 2020 to push their agenda. You are either the dumbest Canadian or you are one of the most evil. Keep smiling and pretending Poilievre is the answer but know this.. He's the Crown's answer not Canadians. The Crown MUST go and that includes CPC and Poilievre........

Pierre was all for the trade war during the election. The Canadian political establishment is in lock step.

Nope, net zero wasn't taking off in the States. This is all scripted anyway. America probably already purchased Alberta, and the rest of Canada is being carved up by the EU/China. Manufacturing consent, as it's always been.

It's time to out the people truly dividing Canada so the Crown can conquer us. Limiting this to Liberals is precisely how we are trapped in the never ending cycle of political theatre... Jasmin Laine is guilty of this for the King's Loyal Opposition..... Mixing cherry picked data with calculated narratives to keep CPC supporters hooked.... Wake Up Canadians...

Trump will ultimately control Canada. Without a doubt. There’s zero chance the US will allow anyone else to control Canadian energy. Energy=Power

The ‘crown’ may be too far out of reach for the globalist by the time Trump is done.

What globalist fear most!!

Wow. A republican US trade rep goes on Bloomberg and faces really tough questioning. Methinks the US business community has had enough of Trump's amateur economics.

I don't see any daylight between the CPC and Liberal policy on US Trade. The difference would have been approach. I think we might not be in the current state but who knows, Poilievre is just as confrontational as Carney on "We have a right to free unfettered access to US markets"

Maybe that was part of the plan.

This is a straw man's argument since @PierrePoilievre and Carney have same stances on almost every issue CPC just move slower. If a President with no vote in another country can decide your elections that shows that you have no soverignty or independence and are already a state

Canada became arrogant because it thought the USA couldn’t do with out it. All political parties thought that.

For all we can praise Trump for, he is a political beast. Imagine all he navigated to get elected a second time. Is it possible Trump wanted Carney over Pierre?

Carney and Macron can kiss to that !

Speculation creates more media. Which is the whole point of this.

What Pierre did in Brantford justifies my position. Wake up Jasmin.

No trade deal until Greer gets a barber to wash the grease out of his bowl cut

Trump sycophants all say what needs to be said to keep the leader from deposing of them

Greer’s answer is revealing. Trump didn’t necessarily want a “tough” Canadian leader—he wanted one more willing to accept Washington’s version of “Fortress North America.” His aggression backfired, pushing Canadians toward Carney and Canada toward greater independence.

So move to the US and suck donnies micro dink. You can be the new Natalie harp.

Screw Bloomberg, leftist rag.

I don’t buy it. PP had the same ability to react as Carney and his message didn’t land. He lost his own seat because he ran a campaign on JT bad and axe the tax. When those two were gone he had nothing left
