Bob Dylan on why he changed his name: "Some people get born to the wrong names, wrong parents. I mean, that happens." As a young musician in Minnesota, Dylan went through several names before landing on the one the world knows him by. He went by Elston Gun first. Then Robert Allen. Then he changed Allen to Allyn because he thought it looked better. He explains the deeper logic behind needing a new name at all: "I think you have an identity of yourself that maybe others around you are unaware of. So, you've got to start over again in every way you can." It had nothing to do with reinventing his character, he says. He was already who he was. In the official SH2 novel he quickly understood her trauma even though she never told him, and he always excused her aggression because he understood her pain. An example is this scene. He knows she feels unwanted and says he's happy to see her (unlike her mother who didn't want to see her) because he wants to bring her some comfort. He also suggests they should leave the town together, even though he hasn't found Mary. He never suggested the same to Laura, even though she's a child and she's alone. Angela brings out a much more "human" and empathetic side of James that he doesn't show to any other character, not even to Laura or Mary. I don't even understand why people are surprised when they hear Pavel say he fell in love first. Back at the Pit Babe auditions, he practically broke his neck trying to talk to Pooh. And during the test, he immediately faked a kiss with Pooh just to prove they had chemistry and should be chosen together. At that point, Pavel wasn't just focused on getting the role he was also making sure that that boy would end up as his partner. Everything was already part of the plan. And that video from P’Chod’s birthday, the one Pavel was recording? He only filmed it to get footage of Pooh. They are old friends and he has always been keeping an eye on Jackson's activities and progress. Ryan excludes even repentance from any part of the equation as to whether somebody is saved. He's very keen on asking this person on whether or not he thinks repentance means "ask for forgiveness," to which he seems to think that the mere act of speaking somehow becomes a work. But more importantly, there's no distinction between what happens interiorly and the words I give it exteriorly. Either repentance is part of the equation or not, regardless of whether it's verbally stated. So in this situation, Ryan is essentially saying that because someone believes, they could go on sinning, and in fact commit grave sins, like murdering people, and without repentance, simply because of their belief, they are still saved. That's "cheap grace"

Marc Andreessen: Elon inspires incredible loyalty from his employees because they know he'll just sit all night with them to fix a problem. “Elon actually delegates almost everything. He's involved in the thing that is the biggest problem right now until that thing is fixed. And then, he doesn't have to be involved in it anymore, he can go focus on the next thing that's the biggest problem for that company right now. The job number one is to remove that bottleneck and get everything flowing again. I think Elon basically has universalized that concept and he basically looks at every company like it's some sort of conceptual assembly line. When he identifies the bottleneck, he goes and he talks to the line engineers who understand the technical nature of the bottleneck. If it's people on a manufacturing line, he's talking to people directly on the line. Or if that's people in a software development group, he's talking to the people actually writing the code. He's not asking the VP of Engineering to ask the Director of Engineering to ask the manager to ask the individual contributor to write a report that's to be reviewed in three weeks. He doesn't do that. He would throw them all out of the window. There's just no way he would do that. He goes and personally finds the engineer who actually has the knowledge about the thing, and then he sits in the room with that engineer and fixes the problem with them.
