Love them both, but lets face it guitar playing has descended into a show-offy duel of technique and tone. None of the subtleties of touch, lyricism, phrasing, simplicity are understood or respected. In this sense, Beck wins. In the blues sense, Clapton's feel is unparalleled.

Beck has an unfair advantage. He’s better than Clapton.

This not a fight. It is a conversation, a dialogue, an exchange of high energy full of respect and admiration between two gifted artists who gets even better while playing together. Call it a duet a not a duel.
