I read the opening sentence and presumed he was talking about our Liberal Government over the past eleven years.

Canada has always been a vassal state of the U.S. Canada has no self identity or self reliance. Canadians consume American media: NFL, movies, tv shows, music. Vast majority of Canadian brands are actually owned by Americans. No consequential global Canadian brands. 75% of its exports go to the U.S. Canadians leaving Canada for America for faster healthcare treatment, better paying jobs or to start tech companies. I hate to say this because I want Canada to be self reliant, but its leaders have been lazy and complacent for decades.

Absolutely right. Instead of creating an opportunity to harness the capabilities of both economies, Trump just wants to subjugate 🇨🇦 's economy and siphon off our resources and industries.

Canada has all kinds of tariffs against the US but that is not ever mentioned. Trump wants the best deal for the USA - that's his job. Carney is supposed to get the best deal for CA. Sad that the promised best deal getter could not get a deal.

Ah yes, the winning strategy: “fight Trump” by bravely demanding he remove tariffs while offering him absolutely nothing he wants. Negotiating is apparently “capitulation” now. Nothing strikes fear into Washington quite like Canadian politicians giving stern speeches to Canadians.
