The U.S. Constitution requires Members of Congress to be paid, even during government shutdowns. If Members of Congress had to forfeit their pay during government shutdowns, there would be fewer shutdowns or they would end quicker. That’s why I’ve introduced a constitutional amendment that, if ratified, would bar Members of Congress from receiving a paycheck for the duration of a shutdown. It’s time Congress plays by the same rules as everyone else & we get back to work on behalf of the American people.

I told them that I plan to personally present Ukraine’s plan for victory to President Biden and the presidential candidates from both the Republican and Democratic parties in the near future. We deeply appreciate the support of the President and the U.S. Congress from the very beginning of this war.
