The Trump Justice Department should borrow the Biden DOJ’s own legal playbook. They ran unprecedented, republic-ending prosecutions against President Trump, along with his aides, allies, and supporters. They used the grand jury as cover. They weaponized the system. That grand jury felt that there was not enough evidence to charge Comey on one of the counts. Halligan reprinted a new version of the indictment, and instead of re-presenting it to the full grand jury, she just had the foreperson sign it. This is a major procedural mishap because the indictment against him could be seen as invalidated.
