Ok so here’s what’s happening. For the past few days, pagers and radios used by Hezbollah terrorists to communicate and coordinate attacks on Israelis have been exploding. This is a major development in a war that began nearly a year ago, when Hezbollah, in coordination with Hamas, joined the attacks on Israel. On October 7 Hamas invaded Israel, murdering thousands of Israeli civilians and kidnapping hundreds more. The very next day on October 8th Hezbollah joined the war. Both of these terrorist groups are backed trained and funded by the Islamic Republic of Iran, the world’s largest sponsor of terrorism. And for the past 11 months, Hezbollah has fired over 8,500 rockets and drones at Israel, that’s almost 1000 attacks each month, forcing nearly 100,000 Israelis away from their homes. Dozens of Israeli civilians have been killed. Including, horrifically the 12 children who were playing soccer in Majdal Shams when an Iranian-made rocket, launched by Hezbollah, struck the playground and killed them. And this week, Hezbollah suffered a significant blow. Every single person who was carrying one of these devices was part of Hezbollah’s terrorist operation. If you had them, you are a part of Iran’s terrorist occupation of the Middle East and you are a part of Iran’s ring of fire that’s trying to take Israel down. While Israel has consistently shown restraint and made countless attempts to reach a ceasefire, Hezbollah has continued attacking Israel. In my opinion, if we look a little further ahead than, say, a day or two, the question is: Will this war end with an agreement or a unilateral ceasefire? It must be said that there is a very interesting development behind the scenes, which is that Hezbollah is pleading with the Iranians that any agreement or ceasefire—even a unilateral one, which is, of course, just a phrase, as there is always some sort of coordination behind the scenes—will also include an end to Israeli fire on Hezbollah. That is what Hezbollah is telling Iran. Israel, on the other hand, is telling the United States that there is no chance of that happening—it will not happen—because Israel’s strategic goal in 2024 was to sever the links between the Gaza and Lebanon fronts, and it succeeded in doing so, and its strategic goal in the Lebanon sector in 2026 is to sever the Tehran and Beirut sectors. To the extent that Israel does this—separating the octopus from its tentacles, or the lizard from its tail, whichever animal metaphor one prefers—it is a significant success on the path to the goal of simply strangling Hezbollah, and therefore this is a very significant point of contention.

Hezbollah is rearming faster than it is being disarmed. Furthermore, it is regrettable that there are instances of cooperation between elements within the LAF and Hezbollah.
