These were nonviolent offenses, the kinds of minor charges where people often remain in jail not because they’re a danger, but because they’re poor. Think about this: It costs Fulton County taxpayers about $115 per day per inmate to keep someone in jail. Yet there are people sitting in jail on $50, $85, or other bonds under $100 simply because they don’t have the money. Does that make any sense? Not talking about people who are harming others or committing serious crimes. Talking about petty, nonviolent offenses, things like jaywalking, disorderly conduct, and other small charges. So today she did her part. She helped three people get out in 2026, just like she did in 2025. It’s a small step, but it’s one way to help while she and others work toward addressing the larger jail overpopulation crisis in Fulton County. She's just trying to do whatever she can.
