Bono and The Edge wrote “She’s a Mystery to Me” for Roy Orbison. The song was recorded for Orbison’s 1989 album Mystery Girl, which was released posthumously. Bono woke up with the melody in his head during The Joshua Tree Tour in 1987, initially thinking it was an Orbison song. He later played it for Orbison backstage at a U2 concert in Wembley Arena, and they collaborated to complete it. The song is filled with some of Bono’s finest Biblical imagery, such as “Am I left to burn, and burn eternally?” 🎥: Rare live performance under the Brooklyn Bridge, 2005

The silence made the music hit harder. The enigma set the world on fire. Word on the street is that a 4K remaster/re-release of the film is quietly in the works — possibly timed for the 40th anniversary in 2028. Nothing official yet from the band, but director Phil Joanou has been dropping hints. Would you love to see Rattle & Hum in pristine 4K? Or does the original grainy film feel untouchable?
