Ask yourself another question: why, if Donald Trump claims he brought in $17 trillion, are we even facing a crisis at all about the government shutdown? Because if he brought in $17 trillion, there’s just so much money to go around that there’s no need to have these types of funding discussions. You know, I think you know the answer—because there was a $2 trillion deficit in the past fiscal year, and there’s a major deficit each and every month. And then finally, ask yourself this question: why did MAGA Mike Johnson and the Republicans cancel work on Monday and Tuesday, the two critical days before the shutdown? I think if you ask yourself those questions, you come to a logical conclusion: Donald Trump wants a shutdown. Then you can ask yourself, why does he want a shutdown? And I think he wants a shutdown because he wants to blame Democrats for the mess that he created. He wants to utilize a shutdown to behave even more as an authoritarian.
