Boosie initially wanted to take the case to trial. Last July, the case was dismissed again. However, the dismissal was appealed by prosecutors. On Feb. 20, the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office filed a motion asking a judge to compel Boosie to answer questions concerning the use of late Southern University student Caleb Wilson's name in association with the 2025 Boosie Bash after Wilson's death. Wilson died during a fraternity hazing ritual in 2025. Boosie has since called out AG Murrill on social media. "This Attorney General in Louisiana, Liz Murrill, has a vendetta against me," Boosie snapped. "People been telling me for 15 years, this lady has a vendetta against me. Now, she done sued me, saying my Boosie Bash capitalized and made profits off the little boy who died in the hazing at Southern. We trying to show somebody love and this how you do me...This the best you could do to try to take me down?" Boosie announced the Caleb Wilson Memorial Scholarship last March at his sixth annual Boosie Bash. He reportedly received permission from Wilson's family but was not authorized to use Wilson or Southern University as part of the festival. Cartel Bo has been arrested for felony kidnapping after allegedly holding the mother of his children captive in a locked closet and sexually assaulting her until she was able to escape. According to court records obtained by XXL, Bo was arrested on July 25 and is being held in the Harris County Jail in Houston without bond on charges of aggravated kidnapping and two counts of assault. The Houston Chronicle reports that in addition to being accused of assaulting the woman and an Uber driver last month, Bo, born Warren Brown, is also being accused of holding the woman in a locked closet for days. Investigators say Bo abducted the woman on July 21 and refused to let her leave for about four days. She was able to escape after he left by breaking out a window and was still wearing handcuffs when she was discovered wearing only her underwear by a nearby resident. Deputies later searched the home and allegedly found zip ties and fast food wrappers on the floor of a closet with a deadbolt. Bo had coincidentally been pulled over and arrested on a warrant for the June assault charges before police discovered the scene at his home. In a statement to KPRC 2 News, Bo's defense attorney, Sam Milledge, said of the allegations: "[They are] not the prettiest, but at the same time, I’ve dealt with worse and you just have to let these things play out." The woman was walking near East 1st Avenue and Commercial Drive when the suspect, who was walking in the opposite direction, allegedly elbowed her in the face. Vancouver Police previously issued a release in March 2026, after the same suspect was charged in connection with four alleged stranger assaults against women in the downtown core. Dylan Brandon Gaita, 29, is now charged with one count of assault in relation to the June 29 incident. He is currently in custody. VPD is asking any member of the public who may have witnessed the June 29 incident, or have witnessed a similar incident in the past, to contact police. Investigators believe there may be additional victims who have yet to come forward. “Incidents like this are serious and frightening for victims and witnesses,” says Constable Megan Lui. “Some people may feel too upset to talk to us. We encourage anyone with information to come forward and speak with investigators as they work on this case.”
