A statutory inquiry opens next week into Valdo Calocane, who killed three people and seriously injured three others in an attack in Nottingham in June 2023. Channel 4 News can reveal the Nottingham case is not isolated. In the year before the attacks, there were 23 similar incidents across the UK involving severely mentally ill people attacking strangers, and a similar number since.
