Both the left and the right in America need to take a step back, take a deep breath, give someone a hug, and calm the f--k down. NO! America is not headed toward a civil war. Yes, we are a divided country, and Yes, there is some political violence,... but to think that we are even close to a civil war is nonsense. It's dangerous for politicians and the media to keep pushing this narrative. People on the left and people on the right have to stop with this rhetoric. The media needs to stop talking about the possibility. Americans care about one another. Republicans take care of Democrats, and Democrats take care of Republicans every day. Every day there are Republicans saving the lives of Democrats and Democrats saving the lives of Republicans. Every day there are Trump supporters going out of their way to help far-left Democrats, and every day there are far-left Democrats caring and helping MAGA supporters. And the left will say the right needs to stop breaking the law. The only solution in my mind is to allow the courts to decide.

I haven’t spoken to my son, daughter in law and 6 year old grandson in three years bc of this current divide. My son chose Trump over me and now we have zero relationship. This even affected my marriage. My son’s stubbornness ruined my life.

The fascist actions of the fascist Democrats are so extreme and so utterly out of step with the concept of our nation that unless they walk it all back and apologize, civil war is inevitable. There is no equivalency between the sides here. Just as in 1861, it is the Democrats who are solely and exclusively on the side of evil and national destruction.

It's so true. Most of us agree on things, or can see the other side's side if we actually take time to try and understand them.

I think the main stream media takes most of the blame for how divided it appears.

I think all the media, mainstream or not is partially responsible as is social media.

The media tends to sensationalize, creating unnecessary fear and division. We need to focus on finding common ground, respecting diverse perspectives, and celebrating the everyday acts of kindness that remind us we're all in this together.

@FinanceDropOut So true. If we all just stopped watching the media and reading the news, and if we all just stopped taking every post on social media literally to the utmost degree, I think we'd be a better place.
