Joseph Parker isn't optimistic about getting the Usyk fight before he retires: "I'm not sure how many fights Usyk has left, even though he has a lot to offer and a lot to give with the sport of boxing... he is 38 years old. He probably only has a few more fights before he calls it a day... I do want to fight the best in the world, and he is the best at the moment."

I’ve got the highest respect for him, and I can assure you Oleksandr Usyk trained for this the same way he’s trained for all his other fights. He’s a magician in his thought process. He analyzes everything, and Usyk is not a man to be caught cold. If [Usyk] was literally fighting a bin man, a postman, or whoever, he would train like a Trojan for that fight because he’s always wary of the unexpected. The extra pounds were put on because it helps you absorb body shots. It makes you a little stronger to absorb the punishment. What he did was very calculated.”
