it’s in the name. retainers retain. use them or don’t your choice, teeth may shift, or may not. everyone is different. mine barely shifted

As a former brace face, I lost my retainer.. on accident-purpose and never went back because hell nah, wearing that retainer defeats the purpose of the braces.

The real scam is the price And it’s not covered by dental insurance. They say it’s “cosmetic” SCAM My son shit cost like 6k. And when you see what they really do it ain’t even that hard. (I can’t do it obviously).

Nahh deadass, I had braces for 3 years, got them off, wore my retainers for a good 2 months, retainers got broken, got busy couldnt get them replaced but they did offer i free set, went to get my free set 2 months later, told me my teeth severely shifted so I need new for 2k 💀😭

Do people not realize it’s cause your teeth can shift back to their original place? This happened to me when I was in elementary. Took braces off and after 2-3 years of nothing my teeth shifted so I had to get braces again. Now I have a retainer that I take on and off at night

Ugh. Hate the permanent retainer!!! Most of mine has broken away over the years but I still have it on my bottom teeth.

Soon as they told me that i stopped like 3 months in. Im not wearing a retainer to sleep every night forever bro. Ill just rock out with the small gap and peaceful sleep. Them shits be shifting throughout the day too u put the retainer in at night its tight asf

I stopped wearing my retainer a while ago, I have a permanent retainer on the bottom but i don’t even want that in anymore, one I get that remixes I’ll probably just get Invisalign eventually.

Maaan i always thought once the braces str8n ya shyt out u done. They learned me when my son had his braces. I nevwr needed them. I guess that skip a generation is factz game 😄

Vanity is expensive

I honestly didn’t wear them sometimes but it would be a day or two max. Went in for a checkup and they said my top retainer was loose cause my gums weren’t swollen anymore but they’ll get me new ones next visit. Show up and aoas they don’t know shit and can’t give me new ones.

Sounds like a personal problem

This happened to me. Dog ate my retainer. My mom didn’t have any money to get a new retainer, I didn’t even tell her, I was lucky she found money for the braces in the first place. Two years later my teeth were back to where they started.
