Brad Pitt didn’t just star in Moneyball, he saved it. When Steven Soderbergh’s experimental version collapsed days before shooting, Pitt refused to quit, cut costs, brought in Bennett Miller, and rebuilt the project.

Brad Pitt was so cocky that he stopped a take without Tarantino’s permission in mid scene and Tarantino almost lost it “The look on Quentin’s face, I mean, he was insanely grave.” “Brad, what did you just do?’” Tarantino asked Pitt. Pitt said, ‘Well, I cut the camera.’ Tarantino said, ‘Never again in your life will you ever cut a camera or you’ll be dead in this business. That’s my domain. Don’t stop behavior.’”

When Guy Ritchie told Brad Pitt that he would be playing a boxer, Pitt became concerned because he had just finished shooting F**** C*** (1999) and did not want to play the same type of role again. Pitt took the role anyway because he wanted to work with Ritchie so badly. 📽️: Snatch(2000)

The real Billy Beane initially hated the idea of Moneyball (2011). He only agreed to the film after meeting Brad Pitt and realizing the story focused on the "system" rather than just him.

Brad Pitt didn’t win his first Oscar for being the star. He won it for helping bring a powerful story to the screen. 12 Years a Slave was a masterpiece.

In 12 Monkeys (1995) director was afraid that Brad Pitt wouldn't be able to pull off the nervous, rapid speech. He sent him to a speech coach but in the end he just took away Pitt's cigarettes, and Pitt played the part exactly as director wanted.

Brad Pitt publicly hated Troy (2004) and regretted taking the role. Pitt took the role because he needed to fulfill a commitment after withdrawing from another Warner Bros. project. To avoid legal and financial penalties, Brad Pitt agreed to star in Troy instead. He called it "a commercial kind of thing," saying the storytelling lacked mystery because the camera was always focused on him as the hero. Even so, he committed fully to Achilles. Pitt spent nearly 6 months training in sword fighting, boxing, sprinting, and weightlifting, gaining around 10–15 pounds (4.5–7 kg) of lean muscle to resemble ancient Greek statues. While filming, he ironically tore his Achilles tendon during a battle scene, delaying production. Looking back, Pitt admitted, "I chunked that scene... I blew that scene. It could be better. I would love another shot at it." Ironically, many fans and critiques believe that the flatness actually works for Achilles in the film — a character who doesn’t care about anything except winning battles.

Shia LaBeouf reveals what Brad Pitt actually did for him on the set of Fury, something he didn't understand until years later. At the time, he thought Pitt was just checking in. In hindsight, Pitt was quietly giving up his own moment to set Shia up. "I remember Brad turning to me one time in a scene, and he goes, 'Man, what do I do?' And my dumb ass got lost, I was intoxicated. Brad Pitt just asked me what to do, and I didn't even hear what the question was." "I didn't see the genius of his humility. He was actually bigging me up and using his own take to do it. He knew I was next, he knew they were going to turn the camera around on me, and he threw his last take away just so he could big me up."

Brad Pitt had seen "Hunger" (2008) and long wanted to work with Steve McQueen. Pitt's production company, agreed to help finance "12 Years a Slave" (2013), with Brad Pitt cast in a small role. Pitt’s reverence for the project was religious. He said, “If I never get to participate in a film again, this is it for me.” ("Steve McQueen on 12 Years a Slave", Dan P. Lee, Vulture, 2013)

In Fight Club, Brad Pitt really did get punched in the ear. The script said shoulder, but Fincher told Norton to swing at ear right before shooting. Pitt’s wince and the line “You hit me in the ear!” weren’t acting—they were 100% real.
