The only place I would push back on are personal boundaries. Some personal boundaries reinforce a personal blind spot. Example. My daughter and her wife live in a far left lesbian ecosystem. They hate Trump and all he stands for. I am MAGA, not so much a Trump lover but a person wanting to restore America to a more civil society. When Trump was campaigning for 2024, RFK Jr gave an excellent speech on why he wanted to endorse Trump. RFK Jr was a Democrat that my daughter respected. I sent her a link to the speech. The link was to a local Fox affiliate. I got an instant reply from my daughter that I had violated her boundaries by sending her a Fox link. She associates Fox News to MAGA and Trump. She did not even listen to the speech. She did not even consider a Fox affiliate news station was not Fox News. When I tried to explain things, the boundary violation was the issue and my reason did not matter. Our relationship, which had been very close for many years, ended. I believe once Trump leaves office we will reconcile. But I fear tripping over boundaries I can’t see or imagine.
