@CityTshwane 1/3 Mayor, you will have to relook at your electrical team from a project perspective. They will cause the residents to turn on you due to overpromising and underdelivering. The communication creates expectations and when it does not happen, trust is broken.

Amberfield will be the first area to be brought back online followed by other areas in the region. We expect full restoration to all areas by Sunday. Despite being on site for over a week, the team has finished strong and in good spirits. We regret and apologise that residents were inconvenienced and left without power for so long.

The MMC for Utilities - DA Cllr Themba Fosi - has for over three years failed to address this issue as a priority. Power update: The City of Tshwane wishes to inform residents and businesses that work at the 132/11kV Koedoespoort Substation is nearing completion. All transformers have been successfully energised and final testing and commissioning processes have commenced. These critical tests are being undertaken to verify network integrity, stability and the safe operation of the substation prior to the commencement of switching. Once all testing and commissioning activities are concluded and the network is confirmed to be stable and the switching team has conclude the work, the residents will be informed about the phases of restoration of electricity supply. We expect power to be restored by this evening. We apologise for the inconvenience caused by the prolonged power outage. City of Tshwane

Today I inspected the ongoing construction of the new Talanta Sports City at Jamhuri Grounds on Ngong Road in Nairobi. Pleased with the pace of work and confident the ultra-modern 60,000 capacity football-customised stadium will be ready on time, by December 2025. On completion, Talanta Sports City will be peerless in this region, and will proudly be among the crème de la crème of sporting arenas in the world. We are proud to deliver Kenya's first major stadium in 40 years, since Kasarani and Nyayo in the early 1980s. I also inspected upgrading works at Kasarani and Nyayo.
