It's not instead of cakes. It's in addition to cakes.

Pittsburgh got it from Youngstown

I was at a wedding in Youngstown that had a cookie table. Hand down the best part of the wedding.

Yak is live:

None of what this broad said is true. You still get a cake. Anyone and everyone can make them, it’s not a bride’s family thing

@StevenCheah Mom drove down from Pittsburgh to set up a cookie table at my wedding in FL.

Sight correction. There is also cake

My mom and family made a couple thousand cookies for my wedding.

This was our cookie table at our wedding!

Oh it’s legit! My mom made 35 different kinds and 4,650 total cookies for my wedding

A tradition unlike any other

@BFW @nickturani the Pittsburgh cookie table and the traditional polish wedding "dollar dance" or "apron dance" are maybe the two best things that western PA has going for it. Wife and I both have Pittsburgh-ish family and we had a cookie table at our wedding in NC. Big fans.

@BarstoolYak youngstown*

*Youngstown Cookie Table* Thank you very Much

It’s not instead of cakes, there’s always a cake

The cookie table is not dessert. It is typically not instead of cake. You'd usually have access to the cookie table before dinner

Cookie table supremacy. No notes.

@BarstoolYak

There’s usually a whole room dedicated to just for the cookies. I had no idea this was only a Pittsburgh thing 😆

Cake is still a thing…and it’s anyone and everyone baking them!

@StevenCheah @Katiemoneygrabz we still have wedding cakes lol the cookies are in addition to that

Naw there’s still cake, the cookie table is an add on lol

This is true - and my mother in law posted about 900 photos of the cookie table at my wedding, and not a single picture of her daughter and the groom.

@StevenCheah From Pittsburgh, did not do the cookie table… opted for make your own Dairy Queen Sundae bar. People acted like we shot someone for denying them the chance to make cookies…

Stop the cookie table hate

In addition to cake!

My buddy from Pittsburgh moved and got married in Louisville. They had a cookie table.

I’m not sure anyone can comprehend that type of table..:
