Caved in and finished this full 2.5-minute short film using Grok Imagine Video 1.5 Preview. 🎥 The inspiration for this is deeply personal. When I was a teenager, my grandma fell into a coma before passing. I used to wonder what she was dreaming about, and thought it would be beautiful if she was just reliving her best moments. Also fun fact: I actually made this exact same short in Unreal Engine 5 with talented folks I met online using mocap. AI is convenient, but performance-wise? This is the reality bankers face daily customers cross the line and still expect bankers to stay silent and tolerate everything. She did not stay silent. She stood strong. She defended her dignity. She even asked the wife why she is not stopping her husband. That is courage. That is self respect. That is what every banker feels inside but is often forced to suppress. But what did social media do They cut the entire context and only showed the line where she said “I am Thakur don’t do this bullshit with me” just to create controversy and hide the real issue which is misbehaviour harassment and daily humiliation faced by bankers. The rise of AI technology and deepfakes pose a large risk to the financial services industry. The tipping point for Indian financial services businesses was when onboarding became completely digital, thanks to Aadhaar, etc. For businesses onboarding a new customer, an important aspect is ensuring that the documents and the person opening the account are real. The normal process that's followed today is to fetch the ID or address proof data from the source using Digilocker and or Aadhaar. Also, match the face from this ID proof with the person opening the account through a webcam. Today, we have a bunch of checks in place to check for liveliness and if the other person is real or not. But as the deepfakes improve, I think it will only become harder over time to validate if the person on the other side is real or AI-generated. This problem will be bigger for banks that have more stringent regulatory requirements during onboarding. It will be interesting to see how the regulations around this evolve. Going back to the physical way of opening accounts will bring the growth of the entire sector to an abrupt stop. And the video isn’t me; it is a deep fake. 😬

Anthropic won't like this open-source repo. It is going to cost LLM providers a lot of money. Every CI run of an AI app today sends real requests to providers like OpenAI or Anthropic. Like any other LLM call, this too gets billed at actual API rates. So for teams with high commit volumes, this accumulates into a meaningful chunk of API spend. One common hack devs use is that instead of invoking the LLM API, the test calls a fake local server that speaks the same API and returns a dummy response. The catch is that the dummy response is a copy of what the provider returned on the day it was saved, and providers keep adding fields and changing types. So the tests keep passing against a schema that's no longer valid, while the real integration breaks in production. A smart approach is now actually implemented in CopilotKit🪁's recently open-sourced aimock project. Every day, the repo's own CI sends a handful of requests to the real API and the same requests to the fake server, then compares both against the official client library's type definitions. Those are the only real API calls in the whole setup, and they run on the repo's own keys, not in anyone else's CI. A single team can push hundreds of commits a day, and thousands of teams are already doing that with coding agents. All of those runs stay offline, because one repo checks against the real API on everyone's behalf. When a check fails, a coding agent updates aimock's built-in response schema, the full test suite has to pass, and a patch version ships to npm. By simply upgrading the package, the corrected schema gets reflected in every project using it. The capability is not just limited to a single provider. The same server works for Claude, OpenAI, Gemini, Bedrock, Azure, Ollama, plus MCP tools, A2A agents, AG-UI event streams, vector DBs like Pinecone and Qdrant, and search, speech, image, and video endpoints. 🐶📱 Have you ever gotten a FaceTime from a Rottweiler… and realized it might be an actual emergency? Because I make that a real possibility, and no, it’s not so I can show Bernoulli my latest stick collection. I’m Chesnyy, Professional Good Girl™ and emergency communication expert. My human is a non-ambulatory wheelchair user. She cannot stand up. At all. If she falls from her wheelchair and can’t get back up (or if her power chair suddenly dies like the time she got stuck in front of the fridge for what felt like three business days), her phone might be out of reach. That’s where I come in. We have this fancy button called an iPupPee. When she says “FaceTime,” I go step on it. Instantly her emergency contacts get an actual incoming *video call* from me, complete with the most ridiculous ringtone you’ve ever heard. Who’s going to ignore “Incoming video call from Chesnyy”? Exactly. No one with a soul (or a functioning sense of self-preservation). This is NOT the same as me borrowing her phone to FaceTime Bernoulli for pillow talk or my girl Cloe just to gossip about squirrels. This button is strictly for “Human needs backup” situations. I have been informed that using it for snack requests is grounds for immediate demotion. Yes, there are smartwatches and all that fancy human tech. But watches have to charge. Sometimes she’s just gotten out of the shower and it’s not on her wrist yet. Or she forgets to put it on because she has an attention span shorter than the puppy's. Texts are easy to ignore. A Rottweiler staring into the camera with that “I mean business” face? Not so much. Today we started training the Mooseweiler, also known as Kenji, the overgrown pork roast currently living on giant paws. He picked it up ridiculously fast, even from ten feet away. We took turns. Next session we plug the camera in so he gets used to the sound, and then we keep practicing until both of us can sprint to that button from any room in the house. Because independence is wonderful… until the fridge becomes a prison. You’re welcome.
