Mandela effect? I remember it as "a loaf of bread, a QUART of milk, and a stick of buttah." I have had this in my head for my entire life.

This just hits for those of us who grew up in NYC (or some other urban city) & actually DID get sent to the corner store for small things in between the big shopping trips! Brought to you by the animators of Vegetable Soup on PBS.

I will never forget this cartoon for as long as I live! I recall watching this for the first time when I was very young. Quite the nostalgic Monday morning, if I do say so myself....

My mom once sent me to the store for toliet paper but she only gave me less then a dollar. She said there was a sale and they were super cheap. So I went, there was nothing on sale for less then a dollar. EXCEPT! A single role of double role toliet paper. Went home, up the TP on the toliet tank and she was like What? I told her exceptly that where was nothing, the brand she said was on sale was more then what she gave me. So I still got something and she didn't get made at me, she felt silly and also saw my fix as funny too. Also she went to the store the next day when the "sale" was still going, and even she was like, yep not there! LOL

It's safe to say it's not safe outside... #REMEMBER

My coworker asked me what I needed and I concluded my list with “a stick of butter!” She just looked at me crazy & I chuckled 🤭 because I realized she was too young to understand my reference 🤣 It’s the sweetest things I remember, but don’t ask me where my keys are…

That's EXACTLY how we did it in the 70's. We were not allowed to 4get. You repeated that list ALL the way to the store like math homework

I remember that. Haven’t seen it in 50 years.

I think about this often when I only need a few things. But I am as old as this cartoon so sometimes it doesn't work out and I should have written it down🤣

so glad she didn't ask for a pack of kools and a 6 pack of beer cause that would be awkward for child to carry along with a loaf of bread, a container or milk and a stick of butter they won't even sell you a stick of butter anymore

When I was little this freaked me out. I was very afraid of my mother or grandmother sending me on an errand like this to the shop. I knew I wouldn't remember anything what they told me.🤣
