We should all do things to help birds.

Cardinals don't migrate so, winter buffets are vital ! Their thick beaks easily crush seeds, and that stunning red color cones from pigments in their food.

Peanuts are the favorite for sure!

I'm going to go out on a ledge here and say that putting seeds and fruit out for little wild creatures to eat is for the birds. 🐦🐦‍⬛🫐🍊🥜🍏🥭 🙃

I only put out hulled sunflower seeds and peanuts now for years, the rest is for show. Birds need easy fast-burning fats in winter cold and they know it. Feeder is leisurely attended on sunny days, crowded in cold snow days. Chickadees are always the first to discover anything!

We need to help them survive as best we can! I have been using my walker to safely get to my feeders in this ice and snow in SC! You do what you got to do!

In an open feeder I’d have so many squirrels and raccoons in for the chow, the birds would only get scraps if that 😅 Really enjoyed watching this.
