Dems would've lost power long ago w/o unions. They can't balance the budget so they create more taxable income by hiking minimum wage. In the process they destroy the state from w/in to appease to a small percentage. It's a doom loop & death spiral.

Seniors on Social Security, our average "wage" is $9.51 hour. We still pay sales tax, property taxes, income taxes, all other CA insane taxes. Our last "raise" was less than inflation; 2.4% vs. 2.9%. Plan B is what everyone needs, as Social Security on target to broke in 2035.

Perhaps the elites are trying to price the middle class outa CA so they can have it all for themselves...them and their illegal housemaids and gardeners.

Gavin said it in his budget deficit speech. He is looking at other ways to generate revenue. As far as I’m aware, the only revenue the government gets are taxes. How do you get someone to pay more taxes? You pay them more. They’re using the minimum wage increase as a way to generate more tax revenue.
