When first responders arrived, the gunman shouted, "Allahu akbar" and fired upon them too. The gunman was shot by returning fire from police and has been taken to hospital in critical condition. Muzammil, the zip line operator, was heard chanting 'Allahu Akbar' in a video recorded by a tourist on the day of the terror attack in Pahalgam which claimed 26 innocent lives. After the video went viral, Muzammil was summoned and questioned by the NIA. According to IndiaToday, NIA sources said that it is natural to say 'Allahu Akbar' in reaction to something shocking or sudden and that it's the same as Hindus saying 'Hey Ram'. Just to give you a few recent examples. 1. A plane crashed in Philadelphia in February this year, a man who recorded the tragic accident, distraughtly shouted, “Allahu Akbar.” 2.
