Eight people were on board, including two pilots. The plane had departed from Mexico and was on approach to Galveston, likely bound for Shriners Children's Hospital, when it went down in heavy fog near the causeway bridge. The Galveston Airport Director confirmed this aircraft typically comes into Galveston about half a dozen times a year, regularly transporting patients to local hospitals. Houston Transtar cameras showed thick fog blanketing the Galveston Causeway at the time of the crash.
