For those who don’t know, the seaplane always has the right of way, and seaplane landing and takeoff areas are marked by buoys and marked on maps.

Seriously whoever was piloting that BOAT is at Fault. This is so sad! There’s lanes for seaplanes like runways. 😕

How in TF do you not see or hear a plane coming at you?

This is so ridiculous. Was there alcohol involved? There are so many regulations and fundamentals in place to avoid such a ridiculous situation from ever happening. Never thought I’d see this.

The boat captain should’ve seen that plane coming from a mile away, eh?

For anyone not familiar with this harbour, the Port of Vancouver has a controlled aircraft operations zone for sea planes. They take off and land there all day. Boats are to “keep clear”. It’s basically a water runway. Everyone boating there knows this.

Maybe if the pilot had half a brain he would have seen the boat and the boat should have seen the plain.

When driving a boat I always yield to incoming air traffic. Doesn't everybody? 🤔

Lack of awareness on both sides.

So many people do not belong on the water.
